Insuffient emergency care 3/11/2012

I went to the emergency room in May for lightheadedness. Spent a week, Dr Kochar was the ER attending physician. Diagnosis was my CHF drugs were over-dosed. They called in Memorial Cardiology doctor. Had to be transported home by some friends. A week later, I returned to the hospital ER for nausea, diagnosed was a reaction to a Colcrys for gout. Again the same ER physician took my case. Treated me for the nausea but didn't addressed my swollen ankles and legs. They were going to discharge me a week later with a walker and no home healthcare, I live by myself and 63 years old on disablility from CHF. My famly drove down from central Texas and checked me into Scott & White Hospital in Round Rock in June. They treated me for low PT/INR (1.8) then transferred me to the big hospital in Temple. I was immediately reffered to a heart transplant cardiologist who diagnosed me with end-stage CHF and a prostate holding back fluids. They catheterized me and drained 1 1/2 quarts from me. I weighed 205 lbs. 4 weeks later I was discharged weighing 167 lbs. I'm still on the transplant list but I can walk and drive now. Scott & White hospital and doctors saved my life. The doctors actually that with each oter and can pull up my records and treatments with a computer in any S&W facitlity. If only the doctors in Memorial Hermann system had communicated with each other. more

One of the WORST hospitals 4/23/2011

We took my 87 yr old .father in-law in because he was having chest pains and the wait to see a doctor took forever. The waiting room was packed, nurses/staff were slow, slovenly, and shuffled along slowly. It took 8 hours to get him admitted, once in his room, the nurses ignored him, he would push the help button and no came,...he has a colostomy bag, which burst because NO ONE would come and empty burst and fecal matter was EVERYWHERE on him and the bed,..NO ONE CAME WHEN HE CALLED FOR HELP.He waited for 42 minutes and called for help every 5 to 10 minutes, finally he had to phone my husband(his son) who in turn called the nurses station to tell them to get in there. This place is pathetic, the staff are lazy, inconsiderate, full of apathy and I highly suspect full of unqualified high school drop outs who are there solely for the easy paycheck. I will NEVER and I must repeat,, NEVER go back to that hell hole again. more

Memorial Hermann is not interested in helping Military Families 12/30/2008

Memorial in Houston is closed for business to all military families using Tricare medical benefits.\r What a way to turn their backs on the military families serving this country well. Memorial has turned it back on an entire group of people who might need the special care that this hospital can likely provide without tremendous effort. Memorial Hermann is the most prominent hospital in the Houston area, if not the largest hospital chain in this area and they are refusing to provide, at minimum, a level of convenient care to our US Military (soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen) or their families that is unless the care that is needed is emergency care only. This is a disgrace that such a highly prominent, extremely profitable, Goliath of a hospital can turn it back on those who have done nothing but try to protect and serve them well in the military. more
