Two of my coworkers and I decided to eat at Meltdown today for lunch. We got there around 12:45 p.m. and beat the lunch rush by minutes. We ordered our food at the counter and grabbed a seat before it was too late. The place is small, so big groups are not recommended. Also, try to get to this place before the big lunch rush, which seemed to be around 1:00 p.m. Since it's only open from 11:30 until 3:00 p.m. it's hard to find a good window of time to visit this place, but we got lucky around 12:45 p.m.
I ordered the Partial Meltdown (which is a 1/2 sandwich with your choice of soup or salad) and had the Cheddar, Ham and Apple (which is sharp cheddar, ham, and apple butter on sourdough) and the Tomato Soup. I enjoyed every bit of my lunch, and for $6.95 (plus tax) it satisfied my hunger. I would have given this place 5 stars, but sadly I think the grilled cheese at BottleRock beats out the one I had today, and plus this place is only open limited hours, so that's no fun when you are craving grilled cheese.
Pros: Partial Meltdown = filling
Cons: limited open hours, limited seating
