The Best! Simply far better than the rest of Gynecologist I have gone to since living here in SOCAL.He has been my Gynecologist for 14yrs My Mummy, my daughter and my son's girlfriend.I am a New Yorker and leaving and relocating here trying to find a good Gynecologist was the hardest thing, but thank God I did.I had a Total Hysterectomy almost 10yrs ago with no complications.No one is perfect and we are all human.Complications arise unfortunately pts.may die and it's sad.But Dr Melnik's record speaks for itself.My Mumsie died but not by his hands, it was her time,no grudges there.I will continue to see Dr Melnik until he retires. more

Dr Melnick and Staff are professional and caring. I am troubled by the negative reviews. With years of experience and compassion, Symour and his son Marc are wonderful. Yes, the office can get busy at times, which is only a testament to how many people love seeing him. However, they work to get through the waiting area as quickly as possible. Wonderful. Highly recommended!!! I wouldn’t go anywhere else. :o) more

DO NOT GO HERE! THEY DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO BE IN THEIR WAITING ROOM! THEY WANT YOU TO TAKE YOUR CHILD OUT TO THE LOBBY BY THE SERVICE ELEVATORS AND SIT IN SOME CHAIRS THEY HAVE OUT THERE... AND WAIT TO BE CALLED! (like a leper) THEY DO NOT ALLOW THEM IN THE WAITING ROOM AT ALL, BUT YOU CAN TAKE THEM IN THE ROOM WHEN YOU ARE BEING SEEN! ???? WON'T THE CHILD PASS BY THE PREGNANT WOMEN OR MAY EVEN BE NEAR ONE. I GUESS PREGNANT WOMEN CAN GET SOME SERIOUS ILLNESS BY SHARING A WAITING ROOM WITH CHILDREN! A PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD NOT BE EXPOSED OR NEAR CHILDREN BECAUSE THEY MIGHT HARM THE UNBORN CHILD IS WHAT I WAS TOLD. HMMM...??? WHAT?! THAT WAS NEWS TO ME. I HAVE NEVER EVER BEEN TOLD THAT MY CHILD COULD NOT BE WITH ME IN A WAITING ROOM OR NEAR A PREGNANT WOMEN BEFORE. DON'T PREGNANT WOMEN WALK OUT OF THEIR HOMES? THERE ARE CHILDREN EVERYWHERE! (malls, restaurants, beach, pharmacy, etc.) THEY ARE GOING TO HAVE ONE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS POLICY AND BELIEVE IT IS THE MOST RIDICULOUS THING I HAVE EVER HEARD! WOMEN HAVE CHILDREN IN HOSPITALS! THAT IS WHERE THE MOST DANGEROUS DISEASES ARE! I EVEN OFFERED TO HAVE MY DAUGHTERS VACCINE SHEET BE FAXED TO THERE OFFICE, BUT THEY REFUSED! WHY? IF THEY ARE SO CONCERNED THAT MY DAUGHTER HAS HAD ALL HER SHOTS SO THAT SHE DOESN'T AFFECT OTHERS THEN WHY REFUSE TO SEE HER VACCINATION FORM!? Referred to Dr. Seymour Melnik by my mom..so I took my pregnant 71/2 month wife with no insurance to see him. We paid $150 for one check up appointment and without are knowledge had a remaining balance of $2,000 dollars!!! Dr. Melnik office automatically enrolled us in some "global "pregnant mothers program for only one visit. (we never signed papers or was told about this) As soon as we had insurance we were going to change doctors anyways since the staff was not friendly at all. We had to post pone our appointments with new the dr. cuz because dr. Melnik's office wouldn't fax over our records. The new Dr. sent over a fax with "Stat" i guess expressing to them urgent. But with waiting more than a week and numerous phone calls expressing my wife needs to see the new dr. we get a generic response and "whenever the Doctor can get to it..he will send it back." Dr. Seymour Melnik I'm sure is a great Dr. but we never got to meet him on our first visit and I seriously doubt all these good reviews are real. The staff is horrible and not friendly or helpful. more

I've been a patient for 37 years. You're not going to find a more caring, well educated, doctor. He's not an alarmist. He considers every case and patient background. I hope his son follows closely in his footsteps. more

I have been a patient of Dr. Melnik's for the past 22 years, and highly recommend him. He is very professional, but warm and takes the time to listen during exams instead of rushing through them. He delivered both of my children, who are now 21 and 15. The pregnancies and delivery were much easier than I expected because of his reassurances and kindness. He also helped me get through a miscarriage and performed another minor surgery over the years, and I would urge anyone to go to him. more

I'm heard mixed reviews about this doctor. He was my sisters physician about two years ago. I assisted her to a office visit due to the fact that on one of her previous visit they made her wait for over an hour. His staff was very unprofessional. Never making eye contact and talking among themselves totally disregarding the patients. Fortunately when my sister finally got to see the doctor she informed him of the unprofessionalism of the staff or lack of "care" He quickly addressed the issue. I believe everyone should get a second chance. more

Clean office, nice, attentive, smart and fun to be around. I generally dealt with the Melnik son as well as him delivering my bambino beautifully and perfectly. I will most definitely use him for my second child. Thank you Dr. Melnik, your the Man!!! :) more

Its so funny to see the good reviews on Dr. Melnicks... however, he didn't kill your mother when she just had everything going for her. Sure, hes great when he doesn't have a daughter back east that needs surgery. I am YET to get an apology from him for ruining my life by taking my mum away. Its awful and I hope none of you get ignored like my mum did while she literally laid on her death bed in immense pain on CHRISTMAS DAY! Good Luck! Think again before going to this doctor. He killed my mum and you will never know because he had good lawyers that hid it well for him. Why don't you ask him about the lady that died because of a medical mistake (HIS) on Christmas 2004. I wonder if he will remember? more

This is in response to the "be leary" Well there is no need! I read that article it is from 1998. Seymour Melnik is one of the nicest and smartest doctors I have ever met. He is sensitive and knows what he is doing. That fraud claim was bogus, he didn't do anything wrong. He is a GREAT DR, and that is all anyone needs to know. more

Well, I have seen all 3 Doctors. They are great and very experienced. I am seen mostly by the youngest which is Marc. He is a great Doctor and if there is something he hasn't seen or is not sure about he tells you and gets the other doctors involved. There is too many dr that say oh that is nothing because they are afraid to say they don't know. So this is want you want. I have had them deliver my son, and I have had a hysterectomy. And have received nothing but the best from this practice. Now Whittier Pres. They have some issues, but definitely not the Doctors. Definitely Recommend them all! more

You would be hard pressed to find a better OB-GYN. He is caring and kind; is not quick to do surgery, very conservative in that area. I have had two children under the care of Melniks and Soloway, and a hysterectomy several years later. Dr. Seymour has a way of making you feel like you are his only patient and that your treatment and comfort are of utmost concern. He has spoiled me for I can't help but compare other doctors and they rarely can compete. I have been a patient for 23 years. more

Dr. Melnik performed a hysterectomy on my mom and she had complications and his son was to look after her. THey kept sending her to the ER. ER would treat her as a heart patient. On Xmas day she went into the hospital and never came home. Melnik said sorry to my mom after she woke from the coma and before she died, however his office charged my dad for the entire procedure that killed her. We should have sued but we were in too much pain. Be careful. more

I love both Dr. Marc Melnik & Seymour. I have quite an extensive background with both doctors, in that about five children in our family have been delivered by these wonderful doctors. My son was in wonderful hands with Marc Melnik. He delivered him just last year. Dr. Seymore Melnik came highly and exclusively recommended by my mother-in-law, who had the absolute priveledge and honor to be nurtured and delivered by Dr. Seymour over thirty-five years ago. Several other women in our family have had that same priviledge. My husband and I are planning another child in a couple of years, but are also planning on moving out of state within the next couple of months and let me tell you, I am still coming out here to see Dr. Marc. I can just sum it up to wonderful bedside manner. They are kind and gentle and offere only the very best care. Despite what your other reviewer said about not being able to trust someone who would do a little insider trading, I will keep going back to him. It speaks volumes about the kind of person he is, when everyone that I recommend to him comes out of his office with a sense of peace and serenity. The kind of peace only a good physician can offer. Let he who has no faults or flaws cast the first stone!!!! He is a top knotch doctor with a good heart! more

I have never been examined by this physician, but I have been to his practice. Before I went there, I did a google search which revealed Dr. S. Melnik and his buddies were involved in a securities fraud/insider trading scam. It tells nothing of his abilities as an OB/GYN, but it tells a lot about his character. I absolutely adore this doctor! He practices with a couple other doctors, one being his son. But he is my favorite. He is so kind and caring. He delivered one of my boys and he made my delivery experience a good one. He has a real good reputation around here. I would recommend him to anyone. His office is very nice and he has great office staff. more
