Good: The Mega Mall is back again, reopened after a fire. Large variety of booths/shops carry everything from shoes, boots & clothes for the entire family to jewelry, tools, toys, CD's, and cell phones. Prices are incredibly reasonable because the overhead is low. Quality can vary, but there are many outstanding bargains. I've been going there for over 15 years and I go there EVERYTIME I'm in Chicago. There is a shop with children's clothing for infants to pre-teens with a wonderful selection & great prices.. Bad: With the present economic downturn, there are more vacant booths than normal, but there are still more than enough good places to shop to be worth everyone's visit.. Improvements: I'd like to see an increase in the number of booths. This will undoubtedly happen as the economy improves. The owner plans to reopen another adjacent building, which will most likely attract more merchants. A center portion of the building burned several years ago, but the remainder of the Mega Mall, consisting of several connected buildings, remains and is as much fun to visit as ever).. Other: There are two parking lots on the premesis and very adequate on-street parking. Try to go in the evening or on a weekday as the crowds are less. But even when it's busy, the Mega Mall offers ample opportunities to browse the booths, and shop owners are always ready to help. Don't miss the shop with beautiful Ecuadorian children's wear, hand-embroidered and reasonably-priced, or the Baby Clothes shop, or the ladies' clothing booths. For men there are several shops, again with variety and great prices..
