I have been a customer of Mediacom since February of 2005. Initially I was very pleased with the price of the broadband service they offered, and the service, for the most part. Recently the 12 month guarantee they gave me expired, so I called and was able to get a cable and internet deal that is much cheaper than the other competitor in the area. The problem--they consistently could not meet the 4 hour time windows scheduled for installation. I don't have all day to wait on an installer, and it was EXTREMELY frustrating. The 2nd time they missed the appointment, I called them and finally told them if the installer did NOT show up, to cancel my account. The installer came at 7:30 pm and stayed until after 9!! Strange, but at least it was done. I was given a $20 credit and free installation, but it took me 3 phone calls to get it accomplished. I can't say I'm entirely pleased, but it is OK a the moment. If I didnt already hate the other competitor, I would have changed.
