VERY GOOD VETS 2/21/2013

I've been using Country Lane since I moved to Waynesville in 2004. I have small animals, cats and a dog as well has horses and donkeys. Dr. David pulled my mare and foal through a difficult pregnancy with problems after the birth. My diabetic cat lived for several years with their care before he crashed so badly we couldn't keep him going anymore. I think their fees are fair, and probably lower than a lot of other vets. They also really care about animals and have helped a tortoise I found by the road with a cracked shell and have helped me place several rescue cats and kittens. I don't think it gets any better than this. more

A Country Lane Miracle 8/7/2010

The McCracken's as well as their staff at Country Lane are phenomenal!!! I will forever fly their flag high. 3 weeks ago my German Shepherd was staring at deaths door with a nightmare kidney infection among other things.. Skin and bones and in distress, we didn't have much hope.. This morning, I cannot feed my girl enough and all she wants to do is play play play!! Our family is so happy and forever grateful for these kind people who genuinely love animals and put their needs first. Thank you Country Lane... I will never be able to thank you enough! more

Country Lane Animal Hospital 10/16/2009

Country Lane vets have doctored my pets for at least 7 years and have NEVER failed to help and be supportive. They always research for the latest and best treatment and never fail to give it. Their office is equipped with diagnostic tools many vets do not have. I know that 24/7 my pets have the VERY BEST because I have these folks and they've never refused to help after hours. That tells me that they CARE about the animal before MONEY!! I highly recommend them if you care about your pets. more

I will never use them. Its a small town where everyone knows everyone. We have been out to eat three times that we were seated next to this vet and listened to him telling the lady with him how stupid his clients are and even called them by name. This didn't just happen once, but three separate occasions. Hey Doc, if all your clients were veterinary geniuses there would be no need for you! Unless you want to your neighbors to hear how big of an idiot you are, you may want to consider using someone else. This man is one of the very few large animal vets around here, but there's a reason we use Dr. Paul and Dr. Coker! more

Overall very happy 2/18/2007

Yes, the first time I tried them (when they had just opened) I was so offended by the receptionist that I later called and talked to vet. He Did "reprimand" the girl and she was much nicer the second time I (hesitantly) took my dog in. On a high note, I love Barb, the dog groomer, she is great! And I have had only good visits for the past year......Dianne is very sweet and always makes me feel like a valued client. Maybe if we complain to the Vets more about the poor service up front they will start hiring competent help. Also, keep in mind that everyone has a bad day.(week/month?) That being said, as long as the receptionist isn't doing the neutering and you like the Docs...give them just ONE more chance and base your decision on that visit and not just the reviews that you are reading here.....they might surprise you.... more

Thanks, Sarah. I was beginning to think the problems I encountered at Country Lane were all me. Sometimes you can cut the tension with a knife. It's been better if I can deal with the new person, but overall I can't see continuing to pay to be dissed by the staff. I will definitely try Junaluska. more

More than Rude 10/2/2006

I agree with JR that this business is rude. While the doctors might be knowledgeable, there are other facilities with good doctors where the customer doesn't have to be subjected to an attitude from the staff. I was in Country Lane last week to purchase some pet food and witnessed one employee YELLING at another employee without any regard for customers in the waiting area. There is an atmosphere of tension and hostility there and I am uncomfortable taking my animals there to be cared for. I started going to Junaluska Animal Hospital because I saw several letters in the paper about two of their employees rescuing a dog on a nearby highway. That's what I want for my pets. I don't want to feel like I'm interrupting an office feud. more

Sucky Customer Service 6/9/2006

I called to make an appointment for my dog to be spayed ($$)and had to deal with some rude girl that answered me with "unhuh". When asking a question I would like to have it answered a little more than "unhuh". When I took my dog in the same rude girl was at the front--still rude. I asked for fluids for my dog and she asked why! Why! To help with recovery, to help maintain body temperature, so that there is an open line in case of an emergency! I could go on. But the point is it's my dog don't ask me why! I want what is best for my dog, no matter the cost! She still doesn't want to run fluids and has to ask the doctor, which was not there! I also did not get to talk to a doctor or a technician/assistant about anything! I don't want to talk to a rude front desk girl. Needless to say I will not be back and my mom, brother and neighbor are all transfering our animals! PROS: NONE CONS: RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! more

Clean 7/18/2005

This animal hospital is very Clean, this is a newer office so the prices are a bit high but the veterinarians seem knowledgeable. They helped me out a good deal with a rabbit i had. So I do recommend this office. more
