There are still a few eclectic bar-restaurants in the Baltimore area that attract a wide variety of people through word of mouth and recommendations. J. Patricks and Paper Moon are two that come to mind. Maynards Cafe is similar but in a class by itself. As you walk through the doors you will notice several dozen bras of various shapes and sizes hanging from the ceiling, encircling the bar. The live fish in fish bowls add a nice touch, as do the posters of Nixon and Curly adorning the walls. The food is good and the portions are generous. Try the award winning crab balls. The service is excellent except when they get hit with an unexpected bachelorette party or a full moon. But even then, the entertainment will make the time pass quickly. Check their web page for a schedule of bands, folk singers and Karaoke.
