Massage Envy

Wife went in for massage on Friday (9/2) and got an OK massage from Ken F, but when she went to use her gift certificate, the Clinic Administrator (Sherry H) said she could not accept it for payment, as "there was no way to enter it into the system". Really? They sell them on their web sites. So, my wife had to pay for the visit. They even went as far to try to sell her on a membership. Let me just say that if you're not going to honor a gift certificate, who, in their right mind is going to trust you with a larger sum of their money?? Calls to the store get me diverted to "contact her via email only"... if this changes, I'll update/delete this review... for now, I'd steer clear... unless you have cash for a one-off, 'just like the other places' massage. The therapists at this location are average at best; however, the management does every thing it can to screw their so called "members". They collect your money every month and conveniently "can't find you in the system" when you call for an appointment. Then when you get angry, they tell you not to come back. I joined Massage Envy in May of this year. I have gotten many massages over the years but ME has one therapist who is absolutely awesome. My fibromyalgia was really bad and Ernesto B knew exactly what to do and I've been almost pain free for several months. He is intuitive as to where I hurt and his technique for healing is wonderful. He starts out kind of slow and gradually gets deeper. He has always been very professional. I would recommend him for any of my girl friends!!!!! more

I have been attending the Allen clinic for about 3 or 4 years and I have found the massages excellent. I also can say that the front staff has had some issues in the past, however the customer service has improved greatly. Scott is the new manager and the clinic has improved over the last year with his presence. The therapist are great and really care about their clients. Massage Envy is about therapy and healing. Was a member for under a year and had to cancel and dispute with credit card company. Overcharged, and there is a therapist at this location (name withheld) that had the nerve to try to 'con' me in to giving a tip by saying I stole her previous client's tip. The manager, Scott Pandolfo (972)974-0241, says he'll do anything to make you happy and provide service - he'll tell you he'll get back to you on issues and you never hear from him. Pathetic service - definitely do not join this location. Other locations have better therapists and service. Scott does not value members at this location. Cons: Try to 'extract' tips, pathetic customer satisfaction. Start late. Finish early. more

Good evening, after reading the reviews I'm stunned by the comments left on this site. Massage Envy in Allen is a great establishment, they have new and seasoned therapist, that all do swedish style massage and alot of them do various modalities to customize your needs. If you don't speak up when you are being massaged and don't say anything when you check out then it is assumed you were pleased with the service that you received. If you want deep tissue massage you have to request it, if you want a basic swedish that is what you get, So before you say that "everyone" is a brand new fresh out of school you better check again, most of the therapist have been a licensed massage therapist over 5+ years and some have been therapists for 10+ and 15+, it is a very large clinic that can support over 16 therapist at one time and the therapist are not overworked, that is just not true, they chose their schedule, and they take pride in what they do, and they massage to help people restore circulation, dexterity, and flexibility. Everyone has their own opinion, and I believe if you try them again I believe you will be pleasantly surprised. These chain massage places may be cheap, but you get what you pay for. I paid for a 60 min massage, but they actually give you 50 minutes. The reason I got a massage was because my neck was hurting. When the massage was over, my neck was still hurting. When I checked out the front desk lady had the nerve to ask me about a membership! The massage was crappy and they wanted me to join a membership. I will not be going back. These therapist are straight out of school and have no experience at all. I went here because of the cheap price and it felt like a $39 massage! The staff is overworked and underpaid and you can tell by the crappy massages they give. Don't wast your time or money! They even tried to pressure me to buy a 1 year membership, which was an insult after my experience. Pros: open late Cons: terrible massages! more
