So, I have to confess, I'm not usually a "review" kind of a person, but when I left Massage Envy Woodbury I told myself I would not be returning for a while... a long while. I acknowledge that the massages/facials are okay, but it was the service at checkout that left me speechless.
While I was waiting to checkout, there were at least 4 situations which arose that the employees behind the counter were unprepared to handle. It seemed as though the manager, and possibly one other employee, were trained in how to handle daily functionings.
Yes, obscure things DO happen, but not this many. To an outsider, it seemed as though several of these issues could have been avoided. One client was scheduled with an esthetician when wanting a massage therapist, then she had to wait for 1/2 an hour to receive her massage due to the mix-up, to another client either being told the wrong time on her confirmation phone call or an employee not scheduling correctly. It left me feeling unsure as to how they managed to get my appointment correct!
Returning clients were becoming visibly upset by having to re-fill out information forms as well. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe this is due to updating files? A couple of clients were given incorrect forms to fill out (facial/massage confusion). Another person wanted free samples of items...
After some of the confusion cleared, I attempted to pay and leave a tip. However, something strange happened to the computer, and she (the manager) was not on the screen she needed to be on. At that point I decided to leave the last of my cash to cover the upgrade and the tip for Sara, who provided me with a nice calming enzyme facial, and leave.
I tried this location due to it being a "spa" and having the option to upgrade to a facial. I think I will stick with my regular 'ol Massage Envy until my membership is done.
