We have been coming to Mario's for over 25 years. We moved from Boston to Vermont in 1992 and still come down to the city to get our hair cut and colored. Our children are now in their twenties, one of them is autistic and the outstanding group at Mario's have gone above and beyond to treat us and our son with great kindness, care and given us excellent style. THE ARE THE BEST! more

Mario's Salon 5/12/2010

I have been going to Mario's Salon for as long as I can remember,and I think I have had every single person actually do my hair and I NEVER left there with a bad hair cut once. Zen really is the best,she gets you in and out, and also makes you so comfortable. I will ALWAYS go back to Mario's no matter who cuts my hair. Thanks to everyone at Mario's for making me feel great!!!!! more

I was the stylist who did Iva's hair twice at Mario's Salon. I am a professional stylist for many years and was even praised for my work as a manager in one of the more popular Boston salons. I would never treat a customer to something we did not discuss. I always do my best for my clientele. They can all attest my professionalism. I have had many for several years. Haircuts are actually $30 and foils run between $45 and $90 depending (which is clearly stated in our menu). It's more than a turn off from my perspective to read this type of experience which did not exist. In fact, she did not even get my name right which should make one think? more

For Tufts student and residents alike...it don't get any better 8/15/2005

I walked inot this nicely furnished salon after my first week at school because of the contemporary look. What got was much more. I was given a haircut by the owner, and it was fantastic. They styled my hair perfectly and even washed and shampooed the hair to get ride of the excess hair bits. They were very friendly, and the price was very good for a men's cut in a salon. This salon has many other offerings as well as many stylists on shift at one time so that any walk-ins are taken quickly. Come here! more

good cut 8/3/2005

I went here twice before switching to Salon Luna (see another review). Both times I got a very good cut by a tall bald guy (Craig, I think, but not sure). It was about $45 for the cut and dry, and some $90 for highlights touch-ups. The reason I switched to another salon (aside from all the recommendations I got for Salon Luna) was that the last time I went, I asked for highlights touch-ups again, and the guy gave me full highlights without discussing that with me, and then charged me for it. That just turned me off from them. more
