The shop is under new ownership. There's not a single puppy from a puppy mill in the place. The very down-to-earth lady who owns the place sells puppies only from local, small suppliers. Their puppies have been very well taken care of and are very well socialized for human interaction as well as for interaction with other dogs. I purchased a choweenie from her (a mix between a chihuahua and a dachshund). I was looking for a small dog, not a tiny dog, and I was looking for a female and not a male. But what I got was a tiny male dog (6 pounds), and we couldn't love him more or be delighted. He was 2.5 months old when we bought him, and now that he is nearly 5 months old he is completely housebroken. The dog is the closest thing to royalty we've ever offered shelter to. The lady and her staff take excellent care of the dogs. She gave him all the shots required until he becomes six months old. I'd recommend this small pet shop to anyone looking for a healthy, well-socialized puppy. The shop also sells snakes and lizards and other not-so-lovable creatures, so even if you're looking for cold-blooded undomesticatable odd-looking small beasts, drop by. She might just have what you're looking for. more

This place has truly changed tremendously. You CANNOT base a store on something that a previous owner has messed up. I have been in sales 9 years and this place has truly changed. My husband went in about 2 weeks ago looking for a dog. I found a yorkie and the lady told me nicely that she was already sold I said ok and began looking at other options to find a beautiful boxer and staffordhire terrier mix. We took him home he was very healthy and very well taken care of. Betty the new manager was very nice told us what type of food he needed gave him his 2nd shot and told us if we need anything to please come back. We now own another puppy from them Miss Alley and she is a yorkie a great price and overall she didnt come from a puppy mill. These animals are taken care of the best I have ever seen. They have taken in ferrets last time I was in there just so the would have a good home and not be mistreated badly. For all the ones who had something negative to say I strongly encourgage you to go back in and give it another shot. I promise it is two totally different world from what it used to be. I went there just to look around and see what kinda snakes they had, they were knowledgeable and showed me to a snake that fit what I was looking for and let me just hang out there in the store holding the snake till I was ready to decide if I wanted to take it home or not. in the mean time I took my time looking around the store and checking out all the animals and all the animals looked well taken care of and healthy. more

soooo where do i begin....my first experience with marions pet world. i had my son with me and we were walking around checking out fish tanks. i was followed around the store as if the lady were taking me on a tour... she kept asking me if i need help i constanly answered no. more

I hate that it's so easy for idiots to own pets...these people should be ashamed of themselves. Cons: EVERYTHING more

I went in to look at their bearded dragons and the women that were working, were smoking ciggerettes. They were very unprofessional, but I saw a beautiful red sandfire bearded dragon. I bought whta they said was a female for 120 dollars. Well, I found out after I bought her that it was really a male and then when HE shed his skin, he was no longer red. They had dyed him with red kool-aid. This place sucks and they should be shut down. Cons: LIARS more

On July 31 I bought a kitten from this store. She was in a cage with 3 others, 2 brothers and a Siamese, when I walked in and saw they were long haired, I had to bring one home, well, 2 of the kittens had so much stool stuck to their little bottom she couldn't tell what gender they were. She claimed the runny stool was from treats she gave them. Me, not thinking, headed off to walmart to buy supplies for kitten while the other person bathed the kitten, or so I thought. I returned only to find they had only bathed her BOTTOM, when she could have used a full bath b/c her fur was just a mess. I took her home anyway, and my friend HELD HER in the car, because they did not give me anything to bring her home in. 5 days later my very TINY, supposedly 9 week old kitten, whose bones I could feel when I petted her, still had runny stool and I took her to the vet. $80 later (and that's AFTER a FREE exam coupon) I walk out with my kitten needing fluids, the vet saying, VERY hesitantly, that she is MAYBE 6 weeks old, and meds for tummy issues. The next morning they called me back with the results of her fecal test, she had coccidia, which the meds should have taken care of. 5 days later she's still not better, and now red is in her stool, i'm getting ready to call the vet when I look and my poor sweet kitten can't even stand up. I took her in and ended up having to have her put to sleep, after having her only 10 DAYS!!!!!!!! I'm going to do everything in my power to have that place SHUT DOWN, or at least shut down from selling pets. My kids and I are just devastated at the loss of our sweet precious kitten. She treated me as her mommy, always trying to nurse on me, following me around like a shadow. I'm just glad I was able to give her a little bit of happiness in her life, and I really hope her brothers were rescued in time. We don't know exactly what was wrong with her, but the vet was leaning towards distemper. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT give this place your business!!!!!!! Pros: NONE!!!!!!!!! Cons: EVERYTHING!! more

This was the worst of any buisness i have ever visited. Besides the fact that it smelled as if an animal had died. I walked in and saw 2 ladies smoking cigarettes at the counter. There was actually another woman sitting in a lawn chair kind of just hanging out smoking and talking. I thought I had accidently walked into someones house instead. I had my 5 year old son with me and had to take him outside because the smoking was that bad. My son asked why we were leaving and I told him, in front of the employees, and they actually started making nasty faces and rolling thier eyes. I mean excuse me if I dont want my child to breath your marlboro smoke and it cant be safe for the animals either. I will NEVER visit this store again in life. I visited Marion's Pet World and i thought that it was wonderful i bought two beautiful puppies and was treated with great respect and great customer service. I was also told if i had any questions feel free to call. the place was well kept and all the animals looked GREAT! I WILL BE BACK TO SHOP FOR MY BEAUTIFUL PUPPIES! If i have anymore pet needs or supplies this will be the #1 petshop i will come to! Pros: service, variety more

I visited this store 2 times, the first time, i walked in and there was a woman smoking a cigarette at the register. I approched another woman and asked for 2 dozen feeder fish. I left feeling like i didnt really have a dozen but couldnt count the fish really well with them all swimming around the bag.
