Expensive and Crowed 5/4/2010

We were there for a fundraiser and had drink specials as part of the deal for the party. First time I attempted to go to the bar was my last one: the bartender was in the worst mood ever for a Friday night over populated environment, super slow with the drinks and overcharged me for the drink specials! I was expecting a $25 charge and she came up with $55!!! The DJ was good but that was it! Not going back there anytime soon... ;-( Pros: Music Cons: Pricey, Bad Mood Bartenders, Crowed more

5 thumbs Down!! 5/3/2010

Did not have a good experience and would not recommend ANYONE to go.. From the person who collects $$ @ the door, who is not personable and just mean, to management who doesn't care how staff treats patrons, nor who's interested in rectifying any issues/complaints. I am a really laid back and open minded person, willing to listen and discuss a problem, and I wrote and email to the manager who did not even have the courtesy to respond! Cons: Staff is very Unprofessional!! more

Great place for a birthday party 12/6/2009

Went here this past weekend with my friends for a birthday party. The lounge was filled with a great crowd. Everyone at the birthday party had fun night, drinks werent to expensive. The DJ played great music mostly a good mix of rock and top 40. I would recommend this to anyone looking to party. Pros: great lounge more

Great Party & Food 12/21/2008

Went here for my holiday party a couple of weeks ago and had a great time. The place was a little crowded, but what you would expect for a space of this size. The food was really delicious - I think they got it from a local restaurant on Clinton Street. Everybody we dealt with was really hospitable. Highly recommend for a group or party. Pros: Food, Drinks, Service Cons: A little tight more

I liked it... 11/5/2008

I'm seeing all these bad reviews, but we went to mannhatta for a bachelorette party this past weekend and had a great time. It IS very crowded, but we had a table in the back and our waitress was really nice. We never had any problems getting in- duh, don't go to a club if you don't want to have to be crammed in like sardines! We got a free bottle of champagne for a toast and no one stopped us from dancing on our table even though the bouncer was standing right by us. I used to go to the old location all the time before it closed and always had a good time, the new place is smaller but everyone we were with had a good time. We'll go back. Pros: very crowded Cons: very crowded more

Horrible is an understatement.. its HORRENDOUS! 11/4/2008

all i can say is HORRIBLE! Horrible service, horrible manager, too crowded and they just lie to you! Not worth your time.... Pros: no pros Cons: everything about this place is bad more

pass on mannahatta 10/20/2008

so i had my party at mannahatta last year and thought, why not again this year? so, the same party planner at mannahatta, erin, and i coordinated and struck a deal similar to my last year's party for this year's party table, but when we got to mannahatta on saturday, the biznatch of a hostess, mya, flipped out and started yelling at me about how erin was lying and how there were plenty of other people who would be willing to pay what they wanted and that we should leave the table. Cons: rude hostess who yells, poor management, bad service more

Best Night! 10/9/2008

I had such an amazing night! The staff was great and the bartender was such a hotty...I was a little skpeticial when I saw how crowded it was, but all my friends had a great time.... there wasn't enough room to dance on the floor, so we danced on the tables ;-) I strongly recommend this place if you are looking for a great night out. more

Great music, great dancing... 7/16/2008

We set up a joint b-day party with like almost 100 people and this bar completely were cool with the huge guestlist we gave them. We had no problems getting everyone in and our open bar was awesome. The DJ was really sweet and everyone ended up dancing on tables. I reccomed this place if you are looking for a place to bring a big group of people without any hassles...we'll definately be back on the regular. Pros: good music, cool staff, good for big groups Cons: gets busy, kind of a pick up joint more

Glad we decided to stop by this spot! 3/3/2008

The last time I came to crime scene it was full of drunken frat boys. Now it is a hip place. I read about the change on citysearch and I had to see it to believe it. Gone was the beer pong and low end crowd. It had all been replaced by hot women. And not only that they are the kind that youd bring home to mom. This place has me as a repeat customer for sure! HOT Hot HOT! LMB1 more

This place is awesome now! 3/3/2008

I used to come to this place when it was crime scene and let me tell you, though it may still technicaly have that name it is a completely different place. It is now upscale, really hot spot. I went with my girlfriends and all of them had a blast as well. If you want to have a good time and drink in a classy environment, go to the new crime scene. more

Not bad, Beer pong! 12/31/2007

I've been here several times over several weeks and i enjoy the place. The thing that really drew me back was the beer pong. Bring some friends on a quieter night and play some beer pong. Pros: Beer pong, gets crowded late at night, decent food, interesting crowd Cons: music gets too loud, small mixed drinks at high prices more

Not the Same Old Crime Scene...much better! 12/11/2007

I went to the new Crime Scene last night and was simply blown away with the change. Not that it wasnt cool before, but now it's beyond cool. It's sleek and new. A lot like Mannahatta that closed just a few doors down. I brought a crowd of 5 friends from out of town and they were so happy that there was so many girls! more

fun, TV games 11/6/2007

went with some friends on a Tuesday night. we were the only ones at the bar. but we were able to play the TV/computer trivia games. So that was fun. the drinks were really cheap. it was an okay time if you go with friends. dont expect to meet other people though on a weekday night. it was empty more

There must be nicer crime scenes in NYC to visit! 10/9/2007

I'm not sure where to start with this review. However, pointing out that the bar's name is something of a misnomer seems a good start: there's not 1 crime scene, but 2! The first is the daylight robbery perpertraited by the 'lady' manning mandatory coat check at the door on the way in whereby $2 is demanded of you at verbal gunpoint. The second is something the trading standards dept might be interested in as I struggled to imagine how this place could be billed as a bar: it was dreadful. And as for for Bud light, I'd be happy to us it tofill a tank and allow my goldfish to swim in it such was it's weakness. Pros: It's an 8 hour flight from where I live. Cons: It's only an 8 hour flight from where I live. more

Great Bar!!! 8/9/2007

I had my birthday party here and it was AWESOME!! The staff is so great!! And Tonya, I can't thank her enough she did an EXCELLENT job at making sure my party was perfect! All my friends had a great time! AND OH MY GOD THEY HAVE THE BEST DJ!!! I love it there and I recomend anybody that is thinking about having a party - GO TO THE CRIME SCENE!!! more

Expensive Drinks, Very Boring!!! 7/2/2007

I was at Crime Scene on a Saturday night and the place was dead. There were maybe 4 other people besides me in the bar. The drinks were very expensive, $5 for a bottle of domestic beer!! There are several bars in the area that charge far less. There was a DJ providing the music who played mostly 80's music. The music wasn't bad, it was just not an exciting place to hang out. There's a lounge space in the back of the bar that was empty. The bartenders were friendly though, that's probably the only positive thing I can say about Crime Scene. Don't waste your hard earned money here though, and from the looks of the lack of people in the place, not many people do waste their time here. Go to 2 by 4 or Doc Holidays for a MUCH MUCH better atmosphere, more fun, and cheaper drinks. Pros: Friendly Service, 80's Music was good Cons: Overpriced drinks, hardly anyone in the place on a Saturday night, boring more

What a Blast!!! 6/7/2007

If you are not up for the usual NYC over-packed, over-priced, bars with attitude than Crime Scene is perfect for you. Pure Fun!!!! My girlfriends and I were walking by and just popped in. What started as an innocent drink turned into dancing on the bar at 1AM with the staff. The owner Tonya is a riot. A screenwritter couldn't have written a more lively, sweet, bad-ass. The DJ played everything from rock, to 80s, to hip-hop. The place is a playground for 20 somethings. From beer pong-to pool this place makes it easy to meet the cool, laid-back crowd within. ROCK ON TONYA....SEE YOU SOON!!!!!! Pros: Tonya(the owner), music, cool/fun crowd Cons: i lost at beer pong more

HOT, HOT, HOT 5/9/2007

All I can say is that we had the best night at Crime Scene. We had never been but had heard about it. Decided at the last minute to give a going away party and called the owner Tonya. She was absolutely awesome. Hooked up the seating, drinks, you name it, she did it. The music was good, the drinks were great and the vibe was fantastic. We were looking for a no attitude place that was casual and had a hot vibe and WE FOUND IT! Drink prices were great to top it all off. What else could you want. Tell Tonya thanks for the Jager Bombs. Pros: seating, music, place is huge compared to most Cons: nada, nothing, zilch more
