TOTALLY SUCKED 1/21/2011

These guys drag their feet, don't represent their client and lie outright to you about what they can achieve. They sucked me into beleiving that they get me a refinance that was better than I could get myself - but I should've gone to Chase instead and have someone who knows what they are talking about. And save my time and money from these idiots more

Work with Manhattan Mortgage and Ralph Harvey. They advised they could reduce our mortgage rate, principle and get better terms. They also told us in order to make this happen we must stop pay our mortgage. After 9 months and $1800.00 were are now in trouble because of their bad advised our home is in jeopardy. This company needs to be out of business and their staff in prison for a very long time. I strongly advise you run don't walk away for this company and their false promises. more

bad business 9/22/2010

Good: nothing.. Bad: The fact that they are untruthful and used my ss number without authorization so they saw my credit report. My info is now their property. Disorganized and could not answer any questions without having to "get back to you". They seem very dishonest.. Improvements: Get rid of CEO and find someone competent to run the company.. Other: Don't use them, they are unethical. I don't even want to give a star but I had to in order to p ost this blog. .. more

Manhattan Mortgage Company is Disorganized 6/15/2010

I worked with the Manhattan Mortgage Company from April - June 2010 to obtain a mortgage for a co-op in Manhattan. While they did find a competitive rate, they charged several thousand dollars to do so. I found that their service to be disappointing and unprofessional. They requested numerous documents as part of the loan process, which I understand in the new environment of strict underwriting standards, but they were very disorganized and repeatedly asked for documents that I had already provided. It was an incredibly frustrating process and instead of making the loan application easier, they actually made it harder because they were so disorganized. I have spoken with colleagues who have also used MMC and they reported similar experiences. At the end of the day, I do think they found a good rate, but the service was very poor and when you pay several thousand dollars, you deserve much better. For anyone else looking for a mortgage broker, I would NOT recommend MMC. There are plenty of other mortgage brokers out there who will find an equally good rate and will handle your application much more professionally. Conclusion - two stars because they found a good rate, otherwise they would be zero stars for the aggravation and unprofessionalism. more

Unprofessional and bad service 1/31/2010

I also experienced the same bait and switch as the previous reviewer; I was quoted a rate on the phone, then when the paperwork finally went throught it was .25 higher. Furthermore, I never heard from them; I suddenly got an email from the bank's lawyer ready to schedule the closing. MM never disclosed closing costs, and I was shocked when they finally sent them to me. They also provided no advice, no options, no suggestion that perhaps I should include the amount of the closing costs in the refinance amount. I had a good experience with MM when I bought my house, but my experience with them for the refinance was distasteful. It really matters who your mortgage broker is. I decided not to to ahead with the loan, now I'm out the application fee. more

Be Aware 8/16/2005

Manhattan Mortgage is one of the largest mortgage broker sin new york city. They are a legitmate organization. however, one needs to be on top of their broker 100% of the time. Also, be aware of the bait and switch. If a rate is promised to you make sure you get it in writing, as i was quoted a rate, told it was locked in and then when i asked for it in writing a few hours the rate was 25 bps higher. Moral of the story get everything in writing. more
