Manhattan Beach day camp is definitely not a camp that I would recommend. The site claims that their instructors are professionals, meanwhile most of them are teens who need a summer job. The air conditioners are faulty and the sanitation is horrid. I don't know how they've ever passed inspection when cockroaches are running around the place, and rotted food has occasionally been served to the campers (they've complained their bread has mold)! The directors and owners walk around with a neglecting attitude holding their blackberry devices like there is no tomorrow. Kids complain that there is never enough food and that the activities prepared for them are not fun. There are so many restrictions placed upon these campers, their only source of entertainment throughout the camp day is playing a game of uno. Kids are forced to participate in activities they don't want to. Come on, this is camp - not school! Money could be well spent at another camp, such as the JCH, twenty minutes away, which provides a real camp experience for kids!
Pros: swimming pool, interesting classes
Cons: pool is small and is shared with two other religious camps
