Food is tasty but "Americanized". Service is your typical cold shoulder attitude. Not a kids friendly place. Cons: Attitude

A high end wannabe with decent food but could do without the attitude and no high chairs for children 4/2/2007

I do like the food here though it is considered to be Americanized Chinese which is fine by me as long as it is tasteful. I would come here occasionally but without my kids. I really could do without their attitude. The decor is nice but the waiters could be better trained to be more friendly and not so grumpy. My guess is that the more money you seem to want to spend, the friendlier the waiter will be to you. Pros: Tasty food all around and somewhat prompt basic service Cons: Attitude of the waiters and no high chairs for kids ... more

Pretty good food 1/13/2006

So I have been in search of a good Chinese place for quite some time. Mandarin Gourmet definitely has offered me something I like. I enjoyed every dish. I do wish the portions were a bit bigger but all in all it was good. Service was just soso, nothing special, but try the food its worth a visit more

good food 12/4/2005

service was good. The dumplings were plump. We had the egg drop soup with was good. Also the General Tzao's chicken was also good, but the pieces were too tiny. I did not have room for dessert though. more

Western Style Chinese Food 4/1/2005

Their dishes have been modified to cater to the American taste. If you see a Chinese customer inside, it's probably they had no say in the venue of choice. A bit pricey. Cons: Expensive more

i love the food here, i crave it every week. the problem is, it's pretty expensive for the small portions they give you. the wait could be really long, sometimes an hour and a half wait. i think it's worth it though! Pros: food Cons: small portions, pretty pricey more

Great Food, Setting 6/15/2004

Mandarin Gourmet-Cupertino provides an elegant, oasis to dine on Chinese food. You and your friends can actually hold conversations without shouting above ""restaurant din"" so often found in today's eateries. The ingredients for the dishes are selected and prepared with care: General Tso's Chicken sports only cuts of white meat (no miscellaneous chicken parts) , the beef dishes provide tender slices, and the Peking Duck dish is done to perfection. The Prawns with Honey Walnuts have local reknown and is one of the best selling dishes. Pros: good value, full bar more

Open another one! 6/15/2004

I love this place! The honey walnut prawns are to die for, as are the minced chicken in lettuce cups with the plum sauce! I love when they come to your table to assemble some of the dishes, especially the ones that catch fire! The only problem is, there is no place in the Sacramento area that even comes close. I wish they would open one, say in Folsom? Ok, Sacramento at least! more
