It was fun while it was there 6/21/2008

This was a great place that opened in the 1970's and was something that was considered cutting edge way back then. I remember it being packed and it was even covered by "60 Minutes" on TV. The fad was so hot in California where it began, they actually had on site "financing" so you could borrow money to pay for your laps the competition was so intense. Within a few years it was a neat place to go and the video game craze made it and the neighboring Castle one of the best arcades in the city. Then when video games died as PC games took over, they brought in slot cars which were still a lot of fun and something you could take the kids and enjoy that was not a great expense. Finally, it was down to just the track, and now, the building is bulldozed, the lap time score board gone, and only the well travelled concrete of the 1 lap track is all that remains on what must surely be an incredibly valuable piece of land that is nearly impossible to get to from the highway. Pros: It was a great place and a lot of fun when it was open Cons: It an empty lot now. more

  • If You're Nine
This place was built for you, my friend. From the bumper boats to the go-carts to the birthday party room, you're in hog heaven. Sample any of the 65 updated video games in the arcade. Or spend your whole summer playing Skee-Ball to save up for that paltry stuffed dinosaur on the wall. Then belly up to the concession stand for an ICEE and just ... BE.

Older than 16, Younger than 35
OK, you're through the phase where you thought this place was for sissies. Time to go back for some nostalgia. This place is casual date central, with mini golf and bumper boats providing the perfect low-intensity romantic venue. Splash water on your true love and she's yours forever.

    If You're a Parent
Don't worry, you'll still have fun at the batting cages, three tracks of slot cars, and you full-size Grand Prix Racers.
