Editorial review from Citysearch 12/13/2012

Dr Magno is a sweetheart. Great place. I'm surprised that there are negative reviews. Park Slopers are hyper critical, if he was that bad he would have been run out of business years ago. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/4/2012

In addition to being an excellent physician technically, Dr. Fitzpatrick is a caring doctor who tries to address any concerns I have. He is also cheerful and funny. I was not surprised to learn that he was elected president of Maimonides Medical Associates. Patients with appointments are seen before walk-ins. more

Avoid if at all possible 12/21/2011

Atrocious service and record-keeping. A claim for a standard visit was paid by my insurance provider and I then got a bill from a debt collector 10 months later. Dr. Magno's office then realized they had simply mixed up the paperwork. Avoid this office if at all possible. more

Terrible Doctor 11/21/2011

Very dirty offices, incompetent staff, extremely long wait times for walk-ins, and when getting medical test results back don't be surprised if you are told you have nothing to worry about you just are infected with whatever disease you went in to get checked for. more

Good than Bad 6/28/2011

When I first met Doc Fitz he was super nice and I was happy to finally find a doctor in my neighborhood that wanted to help. He prescribed me everything I needed to feel better and even helped to make sure my insurance would cover all the meds. Unfortunately I still felt some sinus pain after I was done with my antibiotics and called him back for some advice, more medication or an appointment.. All he gave me was a number for another doctor. It took me a while to find him, i had to sign over all of my personal information, he asked me a million questions for ""the state"" -- I'm sorry doc but I don't want to do that all again. I don't need another doctor, I have you to fix me. I guess he didn't care like I thought. Why won't the doctors in this country worry about making us feel better instead of politics. I'm really disappointed and will never go back. more

Almost Destroyed My Wife 4/6/2011

My wife was a patient of his for a few years 2006-2009... She was dealing with some emotional issues and problems in the work place - and DR MAGNO PRESCRIBED PSYCHIATRIC DRUGS to her!!! My wife WAS NOT seeing a Psychiatrist at the time and instead of sending her to a Psychiatrist, he prescribed an extreme dosage of ""medicine"" and sent her out the door....... Long story short, for 2 years, my wife was given 3 months worth of DRUGS from Dr. Magno every month (you do the math). She took too many pills, lost over 35 pounds and had to be hospitalized for a week while they nurtured her back to life. I regret not reporting him. How can he be a trusted physician when he's writing psychiatric prescriptions an obviously now-addicted PATIENT is requesting - without the patient being referred to a psychiatrist??? Completely immoral if you ask me. I can only hope no one else has to endure the pain and anguish I had to as I watched my prescription drug addicted wife almost die before my eyes because OF HIS PRESCRIPTIONS AND GREED. He cares for no patient - only the payment from the insurance company. more

Horrible, Unprofessional ""Doctor"" 3/18/2011

horrible!!! I was a walk- in and there was a woman before me. She went in and was there for over 30 minutes. They came out and she asked what she needed to take. The doctor said in front of everyone in the waiting room that she was a drug addicted and that she needs rehab! She said nothing she was shocked for a while! He kept saying you need help! Everyone heard this!! Then she said I am not! The doctor said i do not want you as a patient! She left! This was ALL done in front of everyone!! I felt so bad for her! If she is or not that should of never been said in front of EVERYONE!! Its called doctor patient privilege for a reason!!! Worst doctor ever! The doctor is clearly unfit and unprofessional! I left, I did not want him as doctor! more

Great Doctor 8/27/2009

Dr. Fitzpatrick is very nice, to the point, and personable. His visits are quick unless you have further concerns. He easily helped me obtain a referral and refill prescriptions (I just moved here and needed a refill on existing scripts from a Dr. back home). He has no qualms about helping you out in any way he can, and returns phone calls personally in the evenings. His staff prefers to sit behind their little glass window, I am assuming they are just really busy and don't really have time to chit chat with patients who are waiting. Wait times in the afternoon tend to be lengthy, I would really never recommend walking in without first asking about how long it could possibly be. Pros: convenient, nice, accomadating Cons: occasionally long wait times more

Park West lacks compassion 12/10/2007

I don't know Dr. Magno, but his associate, Dr. Fitzgerald and staff totally lack compassion. My 13 year old daughter fell in school and her ankle was quite painful. I live in Windsor Terrace, so I called Park West and they told me to bring her in. When I got there, Dr. Fitzgerald refused to even look at her and I was told to bring her to a pediatrician. When I said we don't have one, the response was a shrug. Neither the doctor nor his nurse cared one bit about the fact that my child was in pain. I was just told to take her elsewhere. When I asked for the form which I filled out containing personal information, they refused to give it back to me. I would not recommend a medicial facility so lacking in concern and compassion. Cons: Dr. Fitzgerald and his staff could care less about my daughter who was in pain more

Compassion and skill 10/14/2002

Quite simply, Dr. Angelo Magno is the best physician that I have ever had. Some doctors may be knowledgeable but lack in personality, some may be nice, but are not too skilled. Dr. Magno is skilled, compassionate, caring and devoted to his patients. He is always there to provide sage advice in a non judgemental fashion. No question is too small for him to address - he doesnt get annoyed like so many other doctors do. He is upbeat and optimistic and one always leaves his office feeling better about their situation. Dr. Magno gets 5 stars! Pros: Reassuring, highly skilled Cons: hard to park at times more
