Only go to Mafiaoza's if you are a ""see and be seen"" person. The wait is never less than 30 minutes. Apps are ok, but I can make better pizza at home. Nuff' said.

Editorial review from Citysearch 11/18/2012

We were there on the 18th with a large party got in about 7pm. I noticed there were empty tables, we had a party of 16 and one waitress. They were not even busy, but were unable to serve us properly. I ordered the teamsters pizza, the crust was soggy and it had some over done crunchy hamberger on it that was supposed to be sausage. We got ready to go and the checks were all messed up, not even close. While we tried to sort this out with the waitress, management just set on there dead _sses and didn't even try and help us or the waitress. Finally just paid for what they claimed, the fat bald man that worked there wanted to run his mouth about some of our party as I was leaving. I ask his name he says AJ, I said so you don't know your name. He claimed to be the owner, won't go into what I said to him here but,he needs to get away from the place and get a manager and a cook. I have had better pizza out of box from Kroger! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/24/2012

Went on Sat. Sep. 22, 2012 - Had the rudest waiter that I have ever met. The manager that came when we asked for one was just as rude. My food was horrible, others at the table did not have any complaints. My pizza was horrible and the waiter and the manager said oh well, it is what you ordered. Eventually they decided to remake my pizza, but I think that by then they did not care how it came out. Not great, but edible. I will not be going back. more

The embarrassment of 12th South. 8/31/2011

Bad food, foul mouthed waiters and an armed guard to greet you. What else could you want? more

TERRIBLE 4/16/2011

This place was very crowded on Thursday night. Food was bland and overpriced for the quality. Service was terrible. We waited for our order 40 minutes, ordered salads, pasta, appetizers. I don't think these take long to prep. Side fries didn't have any salt and were soggy. Lasagna was average. Salads are ok. Very noisy, parking is a huge problem. I don't understand why this place is so popular because food and service is TERRIBLE. This is my first and last time @ Mafiaoza's. more

Wonderful! 4/10/2011

We had a wonderful meal and terrific service. I'm surprized at the negative reviews because our experience was very good and the pizza and salads were delicious. Maybe we hit it on a good night, but it was certainly crowded which indicates that somebody must like it! more

Never got the chance 2/15/2011

I was invited to attend a meeting of Liberty on the Rocks. My schedule is open and I was looking forward to it. I checked out the restaurant and their policies. Since they posted, I cannot carry inside; I will not attend. I do not support restaurants that are anti-2nd Amendment. Whether I chose to carry inside and not drink, or not carry and drink, does not matter. We don't think alike. I would feel uncomfortable spending any money there. The owner made his choice. I made mine. Ain't America great! more

Soggy Pizza, Poor Service 7/27/2010

The service: We went to the bar to get a glass of wine and a coke for my son. The buzzer went off before we could get the coke, and the waiter would not bring us one, without charging us for it, even though I had the receipt. I had to go back to the bar and wait for the waitress to bring me the coke. The food: I had a similar experience to lstover37235, the pizza crust was soggy and all of the toppings were piled in the middle. When we told the waiter, his solution was to tell them to spread the toppings out the next time we ordered. Excuse me? I have to tell Mafioza's how to cook pizza? There will be no next time. Pros: In the neighborhood Cons: Soggy Crust - Limp Salad more

Why is this place popular???? 7/19/2010

I've been to Mafiaoza's several times (not by choice) and been completely unimpressed with it every time. Pros: Casual atmosphere Cons: Not worth the money, mediocre pizza more

No Way 2/28/2010

My girlfriend and I went to Mafiaozas last Friday night for a casual dinner and some wine. We got there about 7:45pm and were told it would be about a 20 minute wait. We moved out of the way and waited for our name to be called or buzzer to buzz. Cons: Read on more

Pizza was a Flop 11/22/2009

I went to M's for the first time last weekend and was expecting it to be wonderful. All of my college friends go on a regular basis and rave about it (but then they mostly go for the beer). When we got there on a Saturday night at 8ish the wait was 45 min. Not bad. When we finally sat down, we had fried ravioli stick (which were delicious) and all ordered pizza. This was the WORST pizza I have ever had in my entire life. The crust was thin and limp, because I had ordered a slice all the toppings were in the very middle. The broccoli was raw and there was a very small handful of cheese sprinkled over the top of the toppings pile. Pros: trendy, ravioli sticks Cons: crowded, terrible pizza more

this pizza travels well! 10/29/2009

I lived in Nashville for a short time for work and ate at this fine place many nights a week. A week ago, my girlfriend was back in Nashville (we live in LA) and the good folks were kind enough to pack up a couple of pizzas into a hot bag that she could bring back to me in LA. The pizza was just as good after traveling as it was in the shop... the only thing missing were the good people and atmosphere that Mafiaoza's has to offer! Keep on rockin' out the good eats! Pros: food, drink, servers, owners Cons: not in LA more

great so far! 8/27/2009

i suggest you go on any other night than tuesday...... Pros: best alfredo in town Cons: tuesdays are horrible....2 hour waiting list more

HORRIBLE 8/7/2009

Waited 2 hours to be seated, no one came around for 45 minutes after we were seated. I decided to talk to someone and they were very rude and informed me I could leave if I wasn't happy. I decided to wait it out even though I was angry. the food came finally and it was utterly disgusting, Not to mention they got the order wrong and refused to take it back, the waitress said ""it is what it is you can leave if you don't like it"". Well I did leave and I did not pay. There were also people seated near us who also left without even eating. We all talked in the parking lot about how horrible the food was and we also told a bunch of people going in and they turned around and left. Cons: Long wait, horrible food, horrible service, rude employees!! more

Fun place to go with friends 7/29/2009

I had a great time at Mafiaoza's. The wine selection was great, and our server was very knowledgeable. The bbq pizza was good as was the appetizer selection. The patio was very nice and I'd recommend sitting out there when possible. Tuesday is a great time to check it out (2-for-1 pizza and drinks), but if you prefer a calmer crowd, go another night. It stays open late (3am), so go early if you aren't into the younger drinking scene--if you are, then it's definitely for you. Pros: great wine selection, tasty food Cons: slower service sometimes more

I love this place 7/13/2009

I love going to Mafiaoza's. It is always busy and the food is great! Cheese ravioli sticks are huge and addicting, Pastas are large portions 12"" pizzas end up being16"" s and are always hot and tasty! I don't suggest slices they are pre cooked and it ends up being the same price or cheaper to split a small pizza. Sunday is 2-4-1 all beers! Bonus:There is always a tall hot server in bar area on Thursdays. She is always friendly and gives great service & she is on Tv. I became a regular because she made me feel so welcome. My 5 year old loves going too because the kids can get pizza dough to play with! Pros: best whole pizzas, hot servers Cons: slices are not great more

Terrible Bar Service 7/5/2009

Twice in two weeks friends and I decided to head to Mafi's for drinks. Both times the blonde woman bartending the back (outside) bar could not have been any worse. Both times it took over 10 minutes to get her to pay attention to us and offer to get us something. (There were only about 10 other people at the bar and surrounding tables all of whom had already been served.) Not once did I see her smile to a single customer or fellow employee. She never even really spoke to us or showed any emotion-- except for the look of disdain she wore so well. She treated us with absolutely NO courtesy and as though we were putting her out by making her do her job. I work in the industry and I gotta tell you, I would NEVER think of treating my customers the way this mean, cranky, unwelcoming bartender treated me and my friends. She should be fired and replaced by someone who would enjoy working and having fun with their customers. Unfortunately, I hear she dates the boss man. I love hanging at Mafi's but I will NEVER sit at her bar again. Pros: fun place to hang Cons: if you can get a drink more

Don't Plan to Return 6/10/2009

last night we came to celebrate my oldest daughters birthday. Her inlaws planned this and drove from Columbia to be there. It was horrible. We expected a long wait time, but the service was awful. Most everyones food was fine (once we got it) but mine wasn't (I decided to order something different), but it was not at all the same thing the menu described. One of the other guest order spaghetti and it wasnt Cons: Waiting Time more

Meh 4/28/2009

We went on Tuesday for the special. It was packed which excited me because I knew noone would be waiting and cramped into this place for no reason. I dont know if it was an off night or if it was me. I wasnt impressed at all. For as long as this pizza took (server said the kitchen got backed up) I thought my tastebuds would feast on a piece of heaven. They were disappointed yet again. Crust as thin as a piece of paper. Literally. Barely any sauce. It was ok and waiting for a long time for ok pizza diminished the taste even more. I will not return. My husband said that Sam's Club is better and I agree. Pros: Great Crowd Cons: Pizza more

Huge Disappointment 3/9/2009

I've never eaten in a restaurant where I couldn't even hear the people sitting next to me. Do not go on a Sat. night (or any other crowded time) if you like conversation. Noisy doesn't begin to describe this place. The pizza was pathetic on both trips (I won't make another) due to the terrible crust. The only redeeming factors are the hot waitresses and cool location. Neither of these factors warrant a trip. Pros: staff is hot, outdoor dining Cons: noise level, food more
