I got screwed! Next step: small claims court. 8/15/2011

This guy is awful... I had him do a clutch job on my car and, when it started squeaking immediately afterwards, he refused to fix it and sent me to the dealership for repair. It cost me $130 to have the dealership document that it was, in fact, Eddie's fault that it wasn't working right. Eddie eventually fixed the problem but refused to reimburse me for the $130 I had to spend in order to compel Maax to fix the problem. Despite the California Bureau of Automotive Repair recommending that Eddie reimburse me, he still refused to do the right thing. Next step: small claims court. Save yourself the hassle and find another repair shop. more

I got burned 6/15/2011

Here's my advice for anyone thinking of using Maax Transmission: drop your pants, bend over, grab your ankles – then you'll be well prepared for what you’ll experience before you're done dealing with eddie kang. He has a smooth exterior, claims to be saving his customers money, freely gives generous warranties. Like the one he gave me on an engine repair. The car broke down and was towed to his shop 24 days after the repair. That's when I found his warranty and his word are absolutely worthless. I lost $1,400 (fourteen-hundred) learning that this man is a sleazeball. Don't be next. more

decent repairs at a fair price 9/22/2008

I received good service and repair. I recommended this shop to two of my friends. He was recommended by a third friend to me. These repairs were varied, not just transmission services. This is a small repair shop, not fancy but I found the owner to be honest, flexible and pretty fast in turning around the repair he did for me. My friends really liked his work too. Pros: much less than the dealer would have charged Cons: hard to park there and no reception area more

Difficulty in getting repair to satisfaction 4/6/2005

This mechanic does not want to fix any work to the customer's satisfaction and constantly defers any questions regarding his repair work to car dealerships to correct any problems that may have occurred while he was fixing the problem. That is, he supposedly fixes your transmission, when problems still persist associated with or just doing a poor repair job, he refers customer to a car dealership rather than fixing the problem. more
