I was relatively happy with MUSC Family Medicine when they were the primary care providers for my husband and I.
It's very convenient that all of their services, such as x-rays, labs, etc, are located in the same building--no need to travel to West Ashley to get X-rays, then Mt. Pleasant to get labs, then back downtown for your appointment. It's all there and all ready for you.
Sometimes, though, such consolidation of services make you feel like more of a number than a patient. THe staff is friendly and compitent, but be advised that the doctor you'll be assigned to is generally going to be a resident--which isn't a problem generally but my husband and I did have issues with a resident giving us incorrect medical information, causing us to worry needlessly about a condition that wasn't even an issue with regards to our health (He told my husband, who has high blood pressure, that his kidneys would soon fail....completely incorrect and unprofessional thing to say as he's leaving the room and giving no time for questions or clarification). If you have a concern about this, ask to be assigned to an actual "MD" doctor and not a resident.
OVerall, the service was fantastic, they have very good office hours and can even see patients on Weekends.
