I was really excited at the prospect of staying at a place that would look like Egypt. When my husband and I first walked in, it was awe-inspiring - huge ceilings, marble floors, Egyptian statues...then someone asked if we were checking in and when we replied, "yes" we got shoved over to a counter where they were offering free show tickets, if we'd sit through 2 - 3 hours of a timeshare presentation during our stay. This hotel is CRAWLING with these timeshare people from Glenview, RUN don't walk away from them - we felt attacked every time we were in the lobby, once even in the casino!
Apart from that - worst hotel feature is that the hotel rooms are paper thin, you hear EVERYTHING next door. Otherwise, they have an enormous buffet in the lobby for every meal, very reasonably priced, and the little restaurant in the lobby isn't bad, either. There's an IMAX on the 2nd floor, and lots of stores selling Egyptian goods.
I liked the hotel, but, after you see some on the other end of the strip, it pales in comparison.
When we went, the hotel was home to Carrot Top, Blue Man Group moved to The Venetian.
