Editorial review from Citysearch 2/26/2014

Like the previous reviewer, I really like a couple of doctors, however, office staff is not at the same level; yes, often mistaken on the billing, sending often bills that are 4 and 5 years old and were paid time ago; now they even have a surcharge of $75 for a walk in appointment but on the other hand it is also hard to get on the phone what you want and definitely not a pleasant experience when you are there in person. It seems that the office is overcrowded not only with patients but also with staff that are just chatting to one another with not much work to do. and yet, they wouldn't issue a form in less than 4-5 days , who knows? ... it could be strategy to encourage families to pay the rush fee on top of the form standard fee; \r I am really sad because the doctor is so likable however, I really don't know how much longer I can take the office staff. more

Negative review for Park Avenue Pediatrics 2/1/2010

While the doctors are competent, the rest of staff is very tentative at best; We kept receiving repeatedly erroneous bills. it was almost that the practice only concern is to skim parents out of money. Scheduling appointment is also annoying. overall, I do not recommend this practice Pros: Dr Mesalin is caring Cons: incompetent staff, very greedy, long wait, run like a factory more

excellent care 9/4/2009

An excellent team of doctors. On weekends, the call back service is very prompt. I haven't had trouble getting last minute appointments. The nurses are terrific with the kids and very professional. My kids feel very comfortable there and the care is first rate. Pros: convenient, responsive, excellent hospital affiliation Cons: small waiting room--but who cares? more

Competent staff, somewhat inconvenient office 7/13/2009

Dr. Grunfeld is very competent and very likeable by the kids. Same with other doctors I had a chance to contact in course of unplanned visit. Nurses are also fine and reception staff is ok. The waiting area, indeed, as menitioned by a previous reviewer, is very crowded and access with a stroller can be problematic. Pros: Competent doctors, efficient procedures Cons: Crowded waiting area more

Grunfeld and nurses are great - office staff needs training 7/6/2009

Grunfeld has made every medical call correctly; the nurse practicioners are incredibly good and warm and are the backbone of the practice. However: getting an appointment on short notice is extremely difficult; weekend hours are limited; there is no separate sick child waiting area (my son had the chicken pox!); staff is very disorganized and often rude; never pay in cash - they always lose record of the payment. Pros: Good medical care Cons: Unresponsive, sometimes rude office staff more

Competent doctors, incompetent staff! 12/9/2008

DR. Grunfeld has been very professional and has been able to answer most of my first-time mother questions. However, this clinic is in Manhattan and parking is a problem. So, I decided to move to another pediatrician closer to where I live that was highly recommended by a colleague. That was when my nightmare began. This clinic has a lot of staff in the office. However, they seem to be losing the records release authorization I keep faxing to them. The first time I assumed they would be prompt about forwarding my son's records to the new pediatrician and followed it up about 2 weeks afterwards. They claim that the authorization form was never received. So I faxed another one and followed it up an hour later. It had been received but stupid me, I did not get the name of the person I had spoken to. So I followed it up a few days later and... surprise surprise... the operator claimed that the fax had not been received! SHOCKING! They put me on hold twice because I was upset at this point. It's no use. I'm going to fax this for the last time and I don't know yet what my options are if this does not pull through. Pros: competent doctor Cons: parking is tough, staff is incompetent and rude more
