Great Antiques, Not-so-good Flea Market 8/26/2006

I love antiquing and going to flea markets and garage sales. The way I see it, other people's trash may just be my treasure. Louisiana's Finest is one of the best Antique and Flea Markets I have been to. It is a indoor building located right off the interstate in Denham Springs. Half of the building is the antique side and the other half is the flea market side. People rent booths on either side based on what they are selling. The antique side is for the used/older items, though everything is not necessarily an antique. The flea market side is for new and/or handmade items. Frankly, there is very little on the flea market side that I am interested in looking at. It is a lot of gaudy junk, new age type things, and knock-off items. The antique side is very good. Most of the booths have so many items that you can spend hours looking at everything. You never know what you might find. The prices depend on what booth you are in and who the dealer is. I have found decent deals here. I collect salt and pepper shakers and much of my collection has come from this market. Some cost as little as $3, some as must as $20. It just depends on the dealer and what you buy. If you like to negotiate, this may not be the place for you. Not all of the dealers are always present. If a dealer is not present, the building staff handle the sale and they do not have the authority to negotiate the price. If you are lucky enough to find a booth with a dealer, you may get to negotiate. Even if I can't buy anything, I love to browse the selection and see all of the antique pieces on display. more

Wonderful place to shop 11/7/2005

Great flea market. They have a great selection of antiques, handmade items, and lots more! Kids love it too. Like previous reviewers said, some things are expensive, but you can also find some pretty good bargains. I got a great deal on some cast iron pans a while back and my mom buys antiques. I wasn't impressed with the food. more
