My companion has experienced significant back pain for years. she takes pain medication that helps very little. She made an appointment last year with LPP, they wanted her to have an mri done first, which she did. After not hearing back from LPP for over a month after the mri was done, she contacted them. An appointment was made for her to have an injection placed in her lower back. This did give some relief for a couple of weeks, and then the paint came back, LPP never called back, so she did, she had to come back in for a "consult". Then, a 2cd "injection" appointment was made for 11:30 am on 3-9-17, nothing to eat or drink including meds after midnight. We arrived on time, when I went to sign her in (she is 74 years old and legally blind), the two receptionists began whispering to each other that there was a problem. There was only ONE other person in the waiting room at that time, when we came the 1st time there was not an empty seat in the waiting room. The receptionist told us it was going to be at LEAST two hours before they could see her (and when we were finally finished at 4 pm the waiting area was full. My companion takes several medications, including heart, blood pressure, and paint medication, to name a few, and she had not had anything to eat or drink since midnight the day before, as instructed. I'm running out of characters here, to make a long story short, it was after 4:pm before they did her 10 minute procedure. The anesthesiologist came in the room 3 times to give her an injection to "relieve" the paint,. He also stated to her (I am speaking of a 74 year old female, less than a year removed from 35 radiation treatments for breast cancer, that takes heart meds daily for a-fib) more than once "THIS WILL HELP YOUR PAIN UNTIL THEY CAN SEE U, BECAUSE WHAT I AM GIVING YOU IS 100 TIMES MORE POWERFUL THAN MORPHINE", You cant make that up. That guy is a nut case. When we were leaving, they told us they would "be in touch" regarding her next app. NOT NECESSARY.
