Best Mexican Food 10/24/2006

Best green salsa in town! Food is always fresh and made to order. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Their catering is wonderful as well. Must try deep fried avacado if you have never had one before. You will not be disappointed! Pros: Not Very Expensive Cons: Noisy more

Great food, okay service 12/1/2005

The food is really great. The place is always packed. A lot of times I just get the food to go. The service is lacking at the 249 location. I went with my dad and they gave us the wrong order. They just slopped it down on the table. The waiter was not even looking at us or our table when he put it down. Even when I pick it up to go, sometimes there is no one at the counter to give you your order. Other people just look at you and keep walking. If the food wasn't so good, I wouldn't go back. The one on Clay road has had better service. Pros: Good Food, decent prices Cons: Service, parking more

Great Food, Cheap Margaritas 11/23/2005

Some of the best mexican food you will find anywhere and the margaritas are only .99 on mondays and tuesdays.Just stay away from the one on 249, which shouldn't be a problem now that there is one in Willowbrook Mall. The restaurant is just too big. There is no way you can get good service in a restaurant that big. It takes about 2 minutes to walk to the restroom. Just imagine how long it takes for the waiters to go to the bar to get your drink or to pick up your food from the kitchen. Pros: Great Food, Cheap margaritas Cons: Slow service, Overpriced mix drinks more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! 7/19/2005

wow, this place is so packed with people. but, we got seated shortly, wasn't a long wait...unless you bring in a big group of people. oh yeah, they don't take reservations there so don't bother calling early. you've got to try their BEEF QUESADILLAS! oh man, the best i have ever had! it makes me want to laugh at pappasitos for real. gotta try the margaritas also. they serve them strong and i love it. *smiles* they're 99 cents every mon. and tues. the only bad part was how you have to scream at your partner across the table in order for them to hear you. parking is a pain in the butt also. but hey overall, it's worth going. trust me. Pros: BEEF QUESADILLAS, margaritas, inexpensive Cons: too crowded, noisy, parking sucks more

top Mexican food 1/17/2005

This chain of local restaurants has very close to the top Mexican food in the city. Their fajitas a las Cucos are fabulous. Try the wonderful eggplant with shrimp called "el Panchito". It's a delight! Pros: cheap, consistent more

"Hot" in many ways..... 6/7/2004

Please go back to your normal "Gringo Friendly" sauces...the ones you could actually eat. Too many of your dishes now are just too hot..and I miss my Los Cucos!! Love the new restaurant on 249, and we have always had good service. Been coming to see you guys since you opened your first restaurant on the corner of that old building on Spring Cypress. Great Value and wonderful steaks. We dont go when its busy. If you get there before 6 you are fine. We have NEVER been pushed away, and I think its normal for Mexican Restaurants to take forever to get you a check. You get one here fast compared to restaurants in Mexico. Hint...ask for the Guacamole that comes from the kitchen..not everyone there makes good Guac at your table, and dont order Cheese Enchiladas or Burritos here...its not that kind of restaurant. Pros: Good Value, Good Food, Wonderful Patio Cons: , Some Food too Hot, Bad Chili Gravy more

los cucos 1/29/2004

too crowded. not enough waitstaff. the parking was very bad, not enough spaces for amount of people in restaurant. the food was good and relatively inexpensive. Pros: inexpensive, good food Cons: , crowded, poor service more

Menu Selection 3/2/2003

Los Cucos offers a tremendous selection of entrees that for the most part are very unique and imaginative. From the fried stuffed eggplant and avacados to the shrimp stuffed chicken breasts, you can't make a "bad" choice. Their menu is incredible and the food quality is exceptional. Pros: Service, Food Quality, Inexpensive more

Great Seafood dishes 2/8/2003

1.50 Margaritas Mon and Tues night. Lunch Mon thru Fri Pros: food, prices Cons: service more

poor service, great food 8/20/2002

service stinks, but the food and margaritas are very good. more

pollo ixtapa 8/11/2002

There are at least three menu items that are as good as any that I have had anywhere. The prices are reasonable. The only drawback is the popularity. It is almost always very crowded. Pros: Fabulous food Cons: Insufficient parking, Crowded more

GOOD BUT NEEDS MORE TRAINED PEOPLE 8/9/2002

My husband are frequent customers of Los Cucos, one a week for the past few years and the food is excellent. There is a problem I have though. When service is bad or food is cold they try to give you another meal or dessert. First of all sometimes I don't want to wait while everyone is eating for a new meal and secondly I don't eat dessert. They are just now starting to deduct from the check but reluctantly. 2 of us had a meal so hot with jalapeno's which i do not eat the other night and the menu has never stated jalapenos. We have ordered the several times and it has never been hot. The manager said it always has them- LIE!!!!!! She only deducted one meal. They have so much business, they don't seem to care about the customers who receive bad service or food. Pros: good food Cons: sometimes poor servic more

Good, but... 6/30/2002

After seeing the large crowded parking lot (anytime of the day or night!) at Los Cucos for several weeks, my husband and I just had to try it. Our food was good, but not exceptional. The totilla chips that come with the queso are very good -- thick and fresh. The refried beans were not very warm and tasted very bland. We always had fresh drinks, but had to wait over 10 minutes for our bill. It's not a dirty restuarant, but it's not spotless either. There's just something negative about the atmosphere that I can't put my finger on... Pros: Large portions, Good tortilla chips Cons: Poor service, Loud more

Say bye-bye to this regular 6/4/2002

I live very near the 249 location. I have been a regular customer for years, however, since they have moved to the new location I find myself going less and less until I finally realized I had not been there in months. The reason? The new resturant is way to noisy, to much stone for sound to bounce off of. Yes, I do not find it enjoyable to yell at my dining partner to be heard. The wait staff is less than average. It would be nice to have something to eat with when your food arrives instead of having to flag someone down for dinnerware and drink refills. I also would like to finish my food before you try to pick up my plate..yes I know you have people waiting for my table. The trouble is, I just don't know why anymore. Pros: food's good, close to home Cons: poor service, noisy, feel "rushed" more
