Los Compadres Mexican Restaurant

Always a great place to stop in for a quick and relatively inexpensive Mexican meal, Los Compadres is one of the better places in Tallahassee. The atmosphere is always friendly, several TVs are playing, and the staff is always polite, fun, and helpful. I always order off the Vegetarian section, and so far I haven't had a bad meal there yet! I can't recommend this place enough! more

Los Compadres is some of the best Mexican food I have had anywhere. The food comes out extremely fast, is very reasonably prices, and totally authentic. There is a small language barrier between customers and the wait staff, but it's so worth it. They also have nightly specials including all you can eat on Wednesday and two for one margaritas on Saturday. My favorite thing on the menu is the chicken quesadilla, loaded with spicy chicken, Mexican cheeses, peppers and onions, SO good. The place doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is terrific!!! more

Los Compadres, which has two locations in Tallahassee (this review is on the one located on John Knox Road), is a fast, cheap, good place for a date or to bring the family. Service is lightening-quick, and you can get a la carte items and spend very little cash. The margaritas are fair to good (more margarita mix and skimpy on the tequila at times), and the chips are fresh and the salsa is spicy. The white cheese dip is divine. The refried beans and rice are great and authentic, and the chalupas are good too. The guacamole is a little disappointing (not sure if it is fresh), but everything we have had is very good. The restrooms are not all that clean, so keep this in mind. The place is very family-friendly and loud, so bring the kids. In the same respect, singles, groups, and dating couples won't feel weird here, since the place is big and open and the beer and margaritas flow. There is a new dining area outdoors for cooler evenings. All in all, if you want some good, non-Tex-Mex food, come here! more
