Lookin Good serves great food to a largely geriatric and proletarian clientele. Located scant blocks from Notre Dame church on Sheridan, it's a favorite with the apres-Mass and pre-Broncogame crowd.
I haven't had anything there that I didn't like. Only once did I ever get served by someone who was less than friendly and attentive, and she didn't last a week. On the other hand, the place seems to attract a loyal waitstaff and regular clientele for whom "go to work" and "go out to eat" mean Lookin' Good.
And who wouldn't frequent a place with a variety of American, Greek and Mexican dishes, as well as an attached bar and lounge. The food is great, the portions plentiful, and the atmosphere a kitschy blend of Greek souvenirs with a preponderance of Elvis memorabilia.
A great family restaurent, great for the "sandwich generation" that's on the hunt for a place to satisfy young and old alike. Not a place to take a date, unless you've been married to them for a few years.
Breakfast is done right! Great hash browns (crispy), eggs done to perfection. For lunch I recommend the fajita burrito or patty melt. And for dinner, their lamb is just like mom used to make (if your mom was Greek, like Angie, the mom who owns the place).
If you're looking for meticulously prepared delicacies, a wine list, and a romantic ambience, Lookin' Good is not for you. But if you're looking for consistently good food, with consistently great service, for a very reasonable price. Lookin' Good is the place to go, especially if you want to take the family out, not miss a minute of the Bronco's game, and walk out satisfied and feeling that life is good, even if the Broncos lost.
Pros: Great food, great and loyal waitstaff, reasonable prices, regular clientele, kitsch factor.
Cons: No wine list, no ambience, no signature dish per se.
