Used to be a good place 2/15/2011

Have enjoyed in the past but the new management is not cool. Don't like the way they treated our group the other night. You would think they would appreciate the business brought in by our private party and DJ. Not sure if I will be back ... more

Won't be back 2/15/2011

As a member of one of the MeetUp groups I was insulted by the way our event was cut short, and my friends being disrespected. Bad business practice and I will NOT return! more

Don't trust management! 2/15/2011

As a co-organizer of a few popular meet-up groups I'd like to warn others that management at the Longbranch can't be trusted. We brought a large group of our members to this club with the understanding that our DJ would be allowed to play until midnight. The majority of people in the building were there due to our meet-up that night. Our DJ was not even being paid by the Longbranch. The DJ was DJ George which just recently played before the 2011NHL All-Star game in Raleigh. Needless to say he is a professional well respected DJ. At 10:00 just when the party was really rocking the manager decided that he would switch to his house DJ thus using our meet-up group to fill the house disrespecting our DJ and our group. Our group had spent plenty of money at the bar since 7:00 pm. I hope the management realizes that meet-up consists of thousands of people and word spreads fast! If you do business with the management at the Longbranch make sure you have the deal in writing because their word means nothing! more

Caution when making arrangement for gathering 2/14/2011

Unfortunately this is the lowest rating someone can give as it should be extremely negative!! Be cautious when making arrangements for a gathering at this place. Get it in writing or else you'll be sorry! We had 150+ members coming with a special DJ for an event. They advised us he could only play till midnight then they turned around and played switch a roo on us the night of the event cutting the DJ off at 10p claiming it was company policy and their DJ would need to take over. Convinced they did it to lure 150+ in for the money. Disgraceful and then decided to block anyone who made public comments on their facebook page. Be weary guys, they apparently have a lot to hide! more

The Longbranch is BACK!!! 4/14/2010

The Longbranch is BACK!!! The club reopened on Dec. 26 2009, with an all new look. Longbranch is the home of country music in North Carolina and has showcased some of the biggest names in the US. Longbranch offers a large country music bar and concert venue, a night club to entertain Raleigh's dancing crowd (all of them, it's that big), a sports bar, a VIP room, and a disco bar. It’s located at 608 Creekside Dr just 1/2 mile inside the Raleigh Beltline (I-440) at the Wake Forest Rd exit. www.longbranchraleigh Pros: Open Cons: None more

The Branch is back 2/21/2010

I love the "Branch" it is one of Raleigh's staples. Saturday night is the best night. Good bands and a good variety of music. Glad to have it back Pros: Clean, large, local Cons: lots of drunks from out of town more

Long Branch NOW OPEN 1/29/2010

I've been with friends three times now, best time is on Saturdays VERY BUSY- Wish people would come out on Friday, when we all really need a drink,,... great music, nice staff. Alittle something for everyone from line dancing to shakin your butt, can even go just to play pool if that's your thing. See you there. Pros: Alittle something for everyone Cons: NONE more

Closed...but reopeing soon 12/15/2009

True, this place has been closed for a while. But it's the only place in Raleigh that has a big enough dance floor that you don't feel like a ping pong ball on it. I'm looking forward to it reopening. Pros: Best country bar in town Cons: there are non more

This place has been closed a long time 3/22/2009

This place is no longer open!!!!!!!! It closed in 2008.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Closed Cons: Closed more

A smoker's paradise 1/31/2008

Non-smokers: Make sure that you get a lung cancer screening after you leave this toxic, filthy place. Pros: Well, it's a place to dance Cons: You can smell the cigarette smoke all the way into the parking lot. more

AWESOME CLUB!! 8/3/2007

We went there for the first time last night. Went to the Country area......where EVERYONE was having a blast!! The music was awesome!! All of the attendants were kind and respectful. Prices are great! I can't say ANYTHING bad about our time there. We spent from 9pm to 2am......and had fun every minute!! The DJ was great, music was flowing constantly. The band was ROCKIN! The band got the whole crowd involved! I definately give Longbranch 5 every area!! I will definatly go back again and again, every weekend!! There's also dance lessons on Sunday and Tuesday nights at 8pm. Pros: THUMBS up on everything!! IT's awesome!! Cons: maybe the bathrooms could use some updating....but that's more CONS! more

I don't go for the staff 7/15/2007

I have been going to the Longbranch on and off for about 20 years. From what I have observed the bouncers are rude, arrogant, and lack training (and that goes for the owner as well). If there is a fight around you, you better get as far away as possible for your own safety. The saving grace-the bartenders are beautiful, bouncy and know their stuff. The top 40 side is a blast, and the country side is great for concerts, but is pretty depressing otherwise. A real Tears in the Beer kind of a place. But for sure - it's still a guaranteed if you know what I mean ;-). more

The Long Branch a great place! 1/20/2007

After reading all of the reviews posted my wife and I were a bit hesitant about going to the Long Branch, but decided to go and were glad we did. We found the door ?bouncers? and the bartenders to be very friendly and helpful. This was our first visit and the staff at the coat check area helped in getting our membership cards in order and was very friendly and courteous. We visited all three dance venues and found that the age group was a good mix of dancers from their twenties to seventies and all friendly and sociable. The country music band on stage was very good and the DJ in the country music area was friendly and engaging. We also found that the drink prices were fair and reasonable. The facility is showing its age but still has many more good dances left in it and we will definitely be back Pros: great ambience and prices Cons: facility showing age more

Decent club, horrible staff 12/4/2006

I went to an event held at the LongBranch not long ago. My first experience there, and I doubt I'll go back. The bouncers at the door are complete jerks. Incredibly rude and arrogant! The club might be decent but if that is the way they treat customers then I have no plans to go back. Pros: Large venue with several bars. Cons: Rude staff at the door. more

Poor customer relations and dance programs 11/2/2006

Is this goodbye to the Long Branch The Long Branch will probably be on the way out shortly except Friday and Saturdays, It is being destroyed from within by poor management decisions. Being the only Country Danc club in town has them treating the customers like 2nd class citizens. The Tuesday night D J and basics teachers are the pits, like drill sargents and very poor music selection. It seems the DJ's play what they want to hear and to hell with the customers. Long delays between songs and the D J leaves the booth for several songs at the time. . A lot of dance lessons have been cancelled and customers are dwindling fast. 12 customers at 9 PM on Tuesday night should tell them something. What made the club 30 years ago was good teachers and good music and customer relations, that no longer exists except Saturday nights minus the customer relations. An Icon is fading fast, as they no longer cater to what the customers want and request. It is a take it or leave it attitude there now. Watch for a takeover or total closing. Now would be a good time to have a new club open it would do well and probably be the death knell for the Long Branch. My condolences to the original owners and the faithful customers they have had over the many years. Bunk Pros: Very few pros anymore more

I love it 1/31/2006

I met my hubby there 25 years ago. And we still go back. Not as much as we used to d it due to having family and all. But we look so forward to going when we can. We do go about 10 times a year and we have never had rude staff. They have always been very helpful. No customers are out of the Long Branch staff control. You can't blame them. But when I have had a problem they have handled professionally. Long Branch is our old stomping grounds. A place we have memories and a place I will always go back too. No one can change my mind. My kids are even going there now. Pros: good parking, price is good Cons: crowed but who cares. more

Great live music opportunities! 12/12/2005

I live about an hour from the Longbranch, but it is not uncommon for me to make the trek there at least once a month. Not only do you get live country band acts at low prices, but the bands will even mingle with the crowd after the concert! While living in Charleston, SC I started going out to a club much in the same fashion as this one and when I moved, I began to miss it, I am SO happy I found somewhere to go and let loose on the weekends! All the bartenders and staff have always been very polite and upbeat. They were even willing to offer suggestions based on my taste buds! Definately a recommendation for a great night out, especially if you are a country girl/boy at heart! Pros: covercharge, good parking, live bands more

Definitely overrated 11/11/2005

The Longbranch is definitely overrated, although they do have a variety for everyone (Club Extremes has a DJ and you get live music and country music), the cover is too much $10, and they do not take credit cards, which means you have to pay ATM fees to get any cash to buy a drink! I went here once for my boyfriend's birthday (they are country boys), but I wouldn't go back with my girls or anything!! more

You've got to go there !! 5/25/2005

The Longbranch is an icon in the Raleigh club scene...plain and simple. If you haven't experienced the Longbranch, you haven't experienced a true nightclub! As I have said before, there are 3 sides to this club that will reach everyone's taste in music. Yes, sometimes the entry fee is a little steep, but if you pay for a membership you get a much better price and the membership actually pays for itself (and more) if you go there more often! I encourage all of you to go to their website [www(insert a dot)longbranchsaloon(insert a dot)com] to check out everything this club has to offer! In addition, please take the time to visit the Longbranch in person...I gurantee you will have a great time! P.S. - there are ATMs in the Longbranch if you need additional cash P.S.S. - the country dj is awesome! Pros: Great music, Great Staff, Great atmosphere...the place to party and socialize! Cons: Are there any? more

Great staff! 5/20/2005

My friends and I had planned a girls' night out for last Friday. After reading some of these reviews, I got a little nervous about the staff. They were some of the nicest bartenders I've ever had...very friendly! The bar was a lot of fun, but very empty. We must have been there on a off-night??? Still, it was great for a girls' night out. more

Whether you're into country, Top 40 or disco, this mammoth club has something for you.

  • In Short
For those who prefer their hats by Stetson and their beer by Budweiser, this spot is perfect. It is known for rough ridin', boot scootin' country on its humongous wooden dance floor that features two bars in the corners. But, you get more than the top country acts touring the nation at this giant joint. There's also a cavernous dance space where DJs spin the latest hits and another huge room with electronic dance-disco tunes.
