I was in beautiful San Antonio recently on a symposium and decided I had to visit its beautiful riverwalk. The Lone Star Cafe was the first restaurant I came up to and the hostess was extremely friendly and warm. I decided to take a chance. Big Mistake. The food was cold, sub par and the service was, well to be fair, thay appeared to loath being there. No one smiled, or even looked happy at all. My drink wasnt refilled, and the bar prices were off the charts. I tried to speak to a manger, but the poor soul looked too stressed out and wasnt very coherent. He himself was greasy with sweat. I know Lone Star doesnt try to be anything that it isnt, its a good place if you're low on cash and want to be left alone, but I wish waiters didnt look miserable. I've eaten at the Lone Star Cafe on two separate visits to San Antonio, and both times the food and service were great. I sat on the patio, and enjoyed the views. Pros: Food quality, Clean, Location Cons: can be crowded, pigeons more
