Lois Lambert opened the Gallery of Functional Art in 1988 becoming the first tenant in Fran Gehry´s "Edgemar" building in Santa Monica. In 1994 the Gallery moved to Bergamot Station an a year later, the Lois Lambert Gallery was opened.
Sice the, the Gallery has featured 50 artists working in painting, sculpture, and mixed media, as well as photography. The Gallery showcases emerging and mid-career artists both local and international. In 2012, the Project Room was opened offering a more intimate space for exhibitions.
