For all the 15 1/2 years now I just go to you with my papa now thanks for everything.

I would recommend any other doctor at this facility other than Dr. Basran. You want cheap shots, this is the place to come to. If you need life saving surgery go some place el...

knowledgeable and friendly 5/2/2011

The veterinarians at this clinic were very knowledgeable and friendly. They make people feel secure that their animals will be well taken care of, and seem to have a way with the animals. I will send all my friends here! Great with animals, great with people more

The staff of the hospital was very friendly and knowledgeable 4/5/2011

I am currently a student and when my dog needed surgery this animal hospital was very understanding on my financial needs! The doctor gave me useful information and assured me everything would be o.k. with my pet. I will never change this hospital. The staff of the hospital was very friendly and knowledgeable about my particular situation! I would highly recommend everybody who truly care for their pets to come to Logan Square Animal Hospital!! They are very informative and kind!! more

Our dog was treated with lots of love 3/28/2011

Our dog was treated with lots of love while he had his vaccines and teeth cleaned. After that, our only area to fix was his ear infection. I only paid for one visit after visiting the doctor three times for follow up on his ear, which was cool. They do accept pet assure which is 25% discount off services in-house only. First come, first serve so get there early, unless your pet is having a procedure done you can schedule ahead. If you're looking for a pet spa atmosphere then keep looking but if your looking for compassionate vets who will treat your pet then you are in the right place. more

i found dr b ten years ago 3/22/2011

i found dr b ten years ago when i found a 5-day old kitten dehydrated and lifeless. three vets told me "well just get another kitten" Dr basran told me what he could do and said "we will have to be very brave for her." today kitty wrigley is an active, special and happy cat. more

Our dog got deathly sick right 3/17/2011

Our dog got deathly sick right before we were going out of town. Dr. Basran took her in and gave her aid immediately. He was able to diagnose her right way and keep her under observation and care until we returned from our trip. When we went in, it didn't look good for her but Dr. Basran and his staff were able to stabilize our dog's health and keep me informed of any updates while I was away. Logan Square Animal Hospital has great prices and provides intimate care for animals. more

This is a no-frills in and out kinda place 3/15/2011

This is a no-frills in and out kinda place. I came in at opening, no appointment and was in and out in 45 minutes with two dogs. Their annual shot prices are inexpensive, but other care is what you'd pay at other vets. more

The rates here are very good 3/14/2011

I've been to a few different vets in chicago for cat care. The rates here are very good. You're not paying for a fancy decor and I've never felt that extra services or products were pressed on me. I've seen Dr. Basran and also Dr. Van Elzen. Some of the support staff seems really young (but are nice) so be prepared to ask follow up questions regarding meds and such. I think the drop-in (no appointments) feature is great too if you're going on a weekday morning. more

I went to this vet clinic on a reccomendation of a shelter 3/4/2011

I went to this vet clinic on a reccomendation of a shelter. It is not fancy or in perfect condition however the vet was VERY good. He took time to listen to the issues going on and actually diagnosed my pet with something that two other vet clinics were unable to. My pet is now healthy and happy thanks to this vet clinic. If you are going to base your opinion on the receptionist or decor this is not the place for you. If you know vet medicine and actually take the time to speak with the vet you will like the place (why do so many people base their opinions on the physical place and not the credentials of the vet???) more

i know they actually care 2/28/2011

this morning it was cold, and the snow was coming down heavy. i was on my way to get coffee when i noticed a pigeon on the ground outside of new wave coffee, laying on its back with its neck twisted just lying kind of motionless and blinking. the snow was already starting to bury it. i wasn't sure what to do, so i went into the coffee shop to ask if they had a number for some kind of animal services that might come help put it out of its misery. they told me no one could help, animal services only comes out for cats or dogs. one of the baristas offered to come out and bludgeon it, but i passed. another one suggested logan square animal hospital right around the corner. i am writing this review because i was deeply moved by the fact that the people in the hospital were non-judgemental and kind when i explained the situation. i know it's just a pigeon, hundreds die every day especially in the winter. but someone from the hospital bothered to put on coat, boots, hat etc and get a box and some towels, and follow me all the way around the block to save the pigeon from a slow cold burial. it means alot that the employees of an animal hospital truly care about the suffering of a living creature, and took enough time to comfort me and deal with the situation. if i had a pet i would bring them here because i know they actually care. more

We take our three cats to this vet 2/16/2011

We take our three cats to this vet for most checkups and problems. The exams are short, mostly because these doctors are very familiar with the problems of household pets. They do require dogs be muzzled - I think that's because a lot of people with pit bulls and other aggressive dogs use this vet service. I haven't always been pleased with their office staff, which sometimes seems to be half-asleep, but the animal care is excellent and the prices are much lower than I've found at other vets in the city. more

I didn't feel that my pet was just another pet 2/3/2011

I didn't feel that my pet was just another pet. They spent the time going through things with me and the doctor called on his days off to check on things. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it doesn't have a 24 hour emergency center. They do, however, give you info for one in case needed. more

Very understanding staff 1/27/2011

Very understanding staff. My room mate and I have a siberian husky named blue. He has the most beautiful eyes.... any how it was time for Blue's shots and my roommate and I were very concerned in reference to where to take our beloved Blue. They answered all of our questions and took care of Mr. Blue that same day. more

I go no where else 1/19/2011

I took my 6 month old puppy to this vet because he was extremely sick. Dr. Basran diagnosed him with Parvo. Parvo is a deadly disease and most dogs who get this die,but Dr. Basran saved him! I go no where else. Also took my 12 year old cat with advanced kidney disease and he was saved by Dr. Van Elzen! I am very pleased with them. more

I would highly recommend Logan Square 1/14/2011

It's totally ridiculous that this place has such a low rating. If you need a fancy building with perky, and nice receptionists then this probably isn't the place for you. But if you are looking for a no frills animal hospital with good and more than fair doctors with the occasional disinterested receptionist then check out this place. I had to take in my two cats before to get checked out for worms, the Dr did not charge me an office visit he only charged me for the meds. Another time I took my possibly pregnant cat into to terminate the pregnancy and get spayed, and they refunded me the price of terminating the pregnancy because when they cut her open she was in fact not pregnant. Now would I have ever known that... no? They could have totally ripped me off and I wouldn't have had a clue. The spay went well, no hitches, and I would most definitely take my cats back there again. In this economy when even the human health care industry is suffering (my hospital has laid close to 500 people in the last year) I know that animal health care has to be taking some hits too. So the fact that they delivered quality care at a reasonable price and then some is awesome in my books. So yes, it's not pretty inside, and the office crew isn't the friendliest, but if you can get past this I would highly recommend Logan Square Animal Hospital. Also the no appointment thing works out very well, I've rarely had to wait longer than 10-15 minutes each time I go which is more than I can say for my doctor who makes have an appointment! more

Very reasonable costs 1/13/2011

We just took our 10 week old kitten (pictured to the left) to get her first check up. Not that it REALLY matters, but all of the receptionists I spoke to were very friendly. The doctor, Dr. K, was great too. He laid out all the necessary tests and treatments our kitten would need without selling us up on any unnecessary frills. He handled our cat very gently and she did not seem to mind the visit at all. Best of all, the price was more than reasonable considering all we got: a FeLV/FIV test, deworming, medication for ear mites, and vitamins. Oh and he saved us the $30 fee for the worm test, he only charged us for the deworming and meds! Please, do not rate these places on how nice the wood in the reception area is or how friendly the receptionist (who has nothing to do with the health of your pet) is. Based on my experience here, the doctors are very friendly and knowledgeable and will only give you what you and you pet really need at very reasonable costs. more
