Worth Every Penny!! 8/14/2009

I am a physical therapist and completely feel that The Little Gym is a wonderful place for children of all ages to go! I signed my oldest 2 children up for The Little Gym, my 5 year old daughter in the gymnastics class and my 3 year old son in the sports class. They both loved in so much and gained from it that I could not wait to sign youngest up! When my daughter turned 4 months (the youngest they take) I signed her up for the "Bugs" class. As a PT, every thing they taught in that class is up to par with what I I do in my practice. They teach parents how to manipulate their children to increase muscle strength and core stability that is going to be imperative in crawling. The children also gain social and emotional benefits from the gym as well (not to mention the social aspect that I got from it too)! The Little Gym has been the best thing I have ever done for my children and I only wish I could have put my oldest two in at an earlier age!! more

Do not recommend Little Gym for the under 3 crowd 3/16/2006

When it comes to entertaining children for a birthday party, I think The Little Gym does an ok job for 3 yr olds and older. However, my experience with them was when my son was under 1. I was taking a mommies class at Women's Hospital and staff from The Little Gym had been invited to our class to discuss gross motor activities to do with our children (all who were under 1 yr of age). The activities they demonstrated for us (and had us participate in doing) were completely INAPPROPRIATE for the age of our children. (This is a FACT: I shared the activities with a PHYSICAL THERAPIST and she was appalled that Little Gym was promoting these activities as good for children under 1.) One would think that people IN the business of 'exercising' our children would KNOW what is appropriate and not appropriate for a variety of age ranges. Very disappointed. I have never signed up for a class. I never will. And I will never recommend anyone with young young children use The Little Gym more

I have heard a lot about Little Gym but really wasn’t as impressed as some of my friends. The staff was great but the activities did not impress my son at all. I really thought a three-year-old boy would go crazy here but he didn’t. I asked him a couple of times if he wanted to go back and he said no. Im glad I didn’t waste our money on a membership here. I would suggest you check our the Children’s Museum before you purchase a membership I think your children might enjoy that a little more. more
