WONDERFUL! 10/7/2008

I am so glad I found Little Mountain Christian Academy. My daughter, Kyllie Hall age 2, currently attends your center and what impresses me more than anything about your daycare is how genuinely happy my daughter is. All of the teachers she has had this year are absolutely wonderful to Kyllie and show such love to her. I could not ask for anyone better to care for my child while my husband and I are working. It is very comforting to know Kyllie is in the hands of ladies that are so loving, patient, but firm as well. It is the most important, yet less worry on my mind during the week. She breaks out in a grin from ear to ear when I drop her off in the morning and is so excited to show me the crafts she has done for the day. She calls out her teacher?s names and other students names when we are home, especially over the weekend. She surprises me so much during the week about things she has learned. My husband and I will look at each other sometimes and say ?did you teach her more

Truly a Center of Distinction! 11/24/2007

I have worked at Little Mountain for 5 years. It is the reason I decided to pursue a career in Early Childhood Care and Education. I have personally observed many different centers in metro-Atlanta as a part of my college education and you will not find a more loving, supportive, child-oriented, Christian center than Little Mountain. Their materials, activities and curriculum are all developmentally appropriate. The owners - Mrs. Peggy & Mr. B - truly care about the children and staff and (like their motto says) they STRIVE to provide parents with quality child care. LMCA is the best! more

Very loving and family oriented 11/9/2007

I have known the owners of this academy and daycare center for over 40 years. They are some of the kindest most caring individuals that you can meet. They just don't have Christian in the name of their center but are active and serving in their local church. Anyone that thinks it is just about the money, really has not spent much time at the academy. I would highly recommend them. more

Peace of Mind 11/9/2007

It was a difficult decision to return to work after we had our first child. But at age 3 mo my husband and I enrolled our son at LMCA and he has been there for five years. The time is coming soon for him to begin kindergarten and we truly believe that LMCA has equipped him through the years with every tool that he will need to excel. His teachers are amazing and he loves them! Their staff is caring and you can see and feel the warmth of the center when you enter the facilities. They take every measure possible to ensure that the children are safe and happy while they are in their care. We LOVE this center and so does our son! They truly do "Strive to give you peace of mind all day". more

Christian, loving, superb! 11/8/2007

I have been using Little Mountain as my childcare for over 6 years. My son is now exceling in 1st grade (actually ready for 2nd & 3rd grade material) thanks to the superb teaching he received while being there. He loved every teacher he had during his 5 years there. Now my 11 month old daughter is mastering so many skills in just her short time at the center. All of her teachers are very loving and patient. My children have ALWAYS received the very best care available in this loving, Christian environment. The owners excel in using very skilled staff. Little Mountain is a state certified WINNER in child care. You will not find that in another center down the street. Make sure you visit Little Mountain for your childs' daycare and preschool needs!!! more

Let me caution you about this center! 10/10/2007

While the staff was great during pleasant times, we constantly had calls to come pick up my son due to crying. If a day care center can't handle crying children, they shouldn't be in the business. After several conversations with the owner of the center, I got the impression that the center cares more about revenue than the children they service. That's not a very Christian way to run a Christian Academy! There are several other Christian Preschools that are far superior to this one. more

Good staff, good variety of activities for kids 7/31/2005

Little Mountain Christian Academy (formerly Little Mountain Childcare) provides a safe and nurturing environment for kids. There's two large playgrounds, a pool, and brightly decorated classrooms for all ages. The daycare (which is the part I'm familiar with) has at least two people monitoring their particular group at all times, and check-in and check-out procedures are fairly strict to ensure every child's safety. The class sizes can be large sometimes, though, so you may want to check if you're looking for a smaller group to place your child in. Traffic is usually not a problem and it's easily accessible. more

  • LaVon and Peggy Sexton purchased the center in January of 1995. It had an incredible reputation in this community. Peggy and Mr. B, as the children lovingly call Mr. Sexton, have an incredible 18 year history. Their unique vision has upheld and improved on the reputation of the center. In 2008 Little Mountain Christian Academy was recognized as a Center of Distinction in the state of Georgia. In September of 2011, it was accredited by the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA). In January they chose to apply for a Quality Rating Initiative in the State. They are always searching for ways to improve the centers quality of care. The Sextons have always loved children. They were foster parents in Rockdale County for a period of seven years. They are the proud parents of five children and twelve grandchildren. Many of their grand children have grown up in the center..

    Classes for children age 6 wks -12 yrs.    We offer GA Pre-K ~After school~ Holiday care for pre-k and After School~Summer Camp  We always have a low ratio teacher to children in each classroom.

    Our infant room is limited to four babies.

    We are a part of the USDA food program and offer hot nutritious meals and snacks.
