The calamari was very "fishy" (in a bad way) as well as soggy - I wouldn't be surprised if it was imitation calamari. Mozzarella sticks smelled like wet dog and thus weren't too appetizing. Carbonara - the egg was added on too high a heat so instead of a delicious sauce I received greasy pasta with scrambled eggs. All in all, simple and tasty foods were completely botched and it was a dismal meal. Absolute thumbs down. more

Pizza marinara has garlic, not onions! The Italians even got it trademarked by the EU! Very disappointed. "Little Italy" -- is very far from Italian more

Delicious Pizza 5/16/2009

This place is better then DiFara's, Better then Lombardi's better then Grimaldi's. Im always on the search for the best pizza in New York, and I think I might have found it. The pizza is delicious. I had a Chicken and Portobello slice and a creamy spinach and they were both great. The staff was extremely friendly and the store was clean. This store gets 5 stars. I couldnt believe all the different types of pizza's they had, I have never seen anything like this before in my life. They had everything you can imagine. I even saw a slice with wasabi on it (maybe next time I'll try that). I also like the fact that they are very original, you can see they put a lot of thought into what they serve and thats always appreciated by a customer. Must try if your in the city. Will defenitely be back. Pros: Large Variety, Fast Service, Very Clean Cons: Long Lines more

Best In All of New York 5/4/2009

This place is fantastic. I've been to what people call the ""best pizzerias in new york"" and this place tops the list by far. They have all different types of pizza. I was amazed to see the variety they had. They had pizza with calamari, pizzas with wasabi, it was crazy (in a good way). I had a caprese with sometype of balsmic glaze on top a sicilian and a chipotle chicken and they were one better then they next. I was so impressed they food was stellar the staff was friendly and the store was extremely clean. This place is the spot to go to if you want real new york pizza. Amazaing!! I just wish this place was closer to where i live (brooklyn) but defenitely worth a trip to the city. It was a great expeirence and I will definetly be back!!! Highly recomended.. Pros: Best Tasting Pizza I ever had Cons: Long Lines (but they move pretty Fast) more

Great Pizza - but.. 2/10/2009

Great pizza - but I suspect they'll be the latest victim of the economic crisis: the lines have shorthened and they have raised their prices 20%! prob to cover their rent and stay alive: but little italy - in case you don't know we are in a global recession!! you're going to alienate even more of your regulars Pros: Great pizza Cons: High price - raised prices in the middle of a recession more

Best Pizza in the States. 1/19/2009

Im born and raised in italy and grew up around pizza. Im a pizza fanatic. I'v recently visited what most people call the best pizzerias in New York such as DiFara's, Lombardis and Grimaldi's but this place (Little Italy Pizza) is the real deal. Little Italy Pizza is in a league of their own. Their pizzas are baked to perfection. They have a variety that never seems to end. I visited this place at around 1:00 in the afternoon and the line was out the door. I had to wait on line for about 5 minutes but the wait was well worth it. The pizza was fresh, and their was just enough sauce on it and the cheese was nice a creamy. This is the best pizza I've ever had. Better then when I was in Italy and without a doubt the best I've had here in the states. Little Italy gets two thumbs up. Best pizza in New York for sure, and dont be intimidated by the lines, they move fairly quick. A must try for real pizza lovers. Pros: Great tasting food.Huge variety, Trendy ambiance and very clean. Cons: Long lines during the day (but they move pretty fast) more

BY FAR THE BEST PIZZA WE HAVE EVER HAD!!!!!! 4/26/2008

Little Italy Pizza is by far the best pizza we have ever had. My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon in NYC. Right after checking into our hotel we began walking to explore NYC and have a slice of the ""worlds famous new york pizza"" this was the first pizza place we stoped at. We were beyond shocked to see all the options we had to choose from. Never have we had so much variety at any pizza parlor. We were blown away on how fast service was for such a long line and how great the taste was of every slice we tried, not one was even okay. They tasted PERFECT. We stayed in NYC for 7 days and ate here 5 times. We will be returning very soon, and I already am craving the WORLD'S BEST PIZZA!!! Pros: TASTE,SERVICE,TASTE,AMBIENCE, AND TASTE Cons: N/A more

Best Pizza In America 9/17/2007

By far the BEST pizza I've ever had!! Im from NY so i know good pizza when I taste it. This place is trendy and the food is outstanding. I highly recommend this pizza place. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. Overall this place gets 5 stars. Not one complaint about this place but don't be fooled by other pizzeria's with the same name the one on 45th street is the real Little Italy Pizza. Theres another one close by but they dont even compare to the one on 45th street. This place also delivers which is great for people who work close by. This place is, if not the best pizza place in the U.S, at least in the top 5. For a taste of real N.Y pizza and an enjoyable experience this is the place to go. I've even sent this pizza to California and my friends wont stop bugging me to send them more. This place has been around for over forty years, now i know why they are world famous. Pros: Food tastes great! People and ambiance are nice. Reasonable prices Cons: Nothing more

Best in Midtown 7/18/2007

As a guy from Queens, I have always been partial to the pizza out there, but not living in New York anymore and only coming into the city for business, I had to find a new place and this is the one. Pizza is good, I'm usually a plain slice guy but the slices with toppings looked good. Also have had a sausage roll and a meatball hero which are alos pretty good. If you're in the area, I would recommend it for sure.... more

Best Pizza anywhere 11/28/2006

The best pizza is definitely at little Italy. I'm always amazed at the large variety of pizza. There must be at least 8 different chicken slices. my personal favorites portobello, pesto CREAMY SPINACH, eggplant special etc............... Pros: variety. eat a different slice everyday of the month Cons: long lines during lunch more

some of the best pizza in midtown 5/10/2006

lunchtime is busy as hell but you'll find out why. the pizza is so good. selection is great and they pile on the ingredients. try the sicilian squares and the eggplant and the spinach. Pros: tastes great Cons: lines more

Is great to work around midtown!!! 5/13/2005

The best pizza in New York period , I recomed the pesto or spinach slice , try to go after lunch to avoid line more

Average 5/19/2004

I don't understand what all the fuss is about. This pizza is just not that good. It's true that the Sicilian is better than the regular slices, but they only offer Sicilian in plain cheese! LIP is close to where I work, so I go somewhat frequently, but I'd sooner go to Papa John's if it were nearby. more

Simply the best 8/13/2002

This is simply the best pizza in the five boroughs with the tastiest crust. This is not your average pizza place with tables and chairs. If one desires, one may stand at the counter and enjoy the mouth watering offering but that is it. Service is fast no time for chit chat here, just keep them pizza comin'. Good stuff! more

It's about the Sicilian... 5/26/2002

The Sicilian slices are the best I've had since I was a kid growing up in brooklyn. The regular slices are good, but not spectactular. Service is good and the people there are friendly. But the best thing for me is the Sicilian pies, which have just the right balance of sauce and cheese and seasoning, on a thick crisp crust. Beats the crust off of all the pizza places within 20 blocks, and probably further. For the person disgusted by the bare hands, latex gloves and Pizza ovens do not go well together, and I know those guys wash their hands frequently. Relax. You'll get more germs at the supermarket. more
