Fast & Delicious 6/8/2010

As a BIG fan of white pizza I can easily say this is the best in the neighborhood. Speed should not mean sacrifice. Want a slice or a pie in a hurry - forget Domino's, head straight to Libretto's. The delivery team is frequently congregated right out front. The staff is friendly and reliably prompt. They do have a vast selection at the ready for to go slices. All that I have sampled have been good, but I consistently return for the white. Pros: Amazing slices in a hurry Cons: Don't go for the decor more

By Far Best Pizza in City 9/17/2009

My first time back in New York in 5 years. Was craving some ""real"" pizza. I found it on 3rd Ave! Great selection of pies, full menu and even ordered a bowl of pasta to my hotel room later that night. Great Food! Pros: Great Sauce, Crispy Crust= Perfect Pie! more

Crazy Waitress Trumps Awesome Vodka Slice 3/24/2009

For some reason, the waitress in this place thinks SHE's doing YOU a favor by bringing you pizza. Last time I checked, pizzerias are in the service industry. I'm doing you a favor for being a patron, lady. Pros: Vodka slice is amazing Cons: The waitress for lunch is completely out of her mind more

Mediocre Pizza, Bad Service and in Need of Cleaning 12/16/2008

I used to go to this place when I worked on the east side, but was moved to the west side so it had been a while. I'm working on the east side again, so I went back. As I walked through the door, I was greeted by less than the most sanitary conditions I have ever seen. Figuring that if I can eat chicken from a cart on the corner, I can handle a dirty pizzeria, I ordered anyway. There were two of us there and we were waiting for a third, so we sat down at a booth ""reserved"" for parties of three or more. Cons: bad service at a seat-yourself pizza place and a lot of money for mediocre pizza more

So much more than just a pizza place! 1/4/2008

Great food! It is so much more than just a pizza place; they have a great selection of Italian dishes. Try the soups and the chopped salad, or the whole wheat penne with broccoli and garlic. Great service and a very friendly atmosphere to sit down for a meal. And the home-made tiramisu is the best! more

Great Neighborhood Place 12/12/2007

I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a solid Italian meal. The marinara sauce is so tasty you want to lick the plate. The meatballs are also great, homemade, you can tell. Salads are freshly made, try the chopped salad (roasted pepper, olives, chick peas, feta) - with a tasty balsamic vinegairette. The owners and employees are so nice, always coming over and making you feel welcome. A great find in Murray Hill. Pros: Attentive friendly service and quality Italian food. Cons: Not closer to my apartment. Delivery is usually quick though. more

Favorite Sandwich Ever 10/28/2007

I order from this place all the time and its awesome. I highly recomend the grilled chicken sandwich with fresh mozz and peppers. Sooooooo good! more

Dirty! Unsanitary conditions! 10/12/2007

I am terribly disappointed in Libretto's pizza. This is actually the 2nd time that this has happened to me there and it is the last. I do not know why I went back for a 2nd time. I am not sure why this is such a difficult concept but why is the guy that is touching my pizza handeling the money! I even addressed it with the pizza guy and he shrugged my comments off. Money is the dirtest thing in the world! This is a violation and a health hazard and we need to start speaking up when we see this. Would you lick the dollars in your wallet? No! Because that is disgusting. CLEAN UP YOUR ACT! I am voting with my dollar and never going back. more

Complete Disaster 4/15/2007

I tried dining there last night and it was a complete disaster. I have never received such bad service AND bad, overpriced food at the same time. I usually give a restaurant a second chance but not this time. Waitress paid no attention to us even though the place was empty and was very rude. And what restaurant doesn't give you bread with an entree? Pros: PIzza is ok Cons: Service is bad and Heros are the worst i have had in the city more

Outstanding service 3/2/2007

Placed my order from San Francisco for a surprise delivery in Manhattan. Mike was an absolute star. I will definitely check out Libretto's myself the next time I'm in New York. more

Best Crispy Crust Pizza 10/30/2006

Pizza the way New York intended it.......that's what you get at libretto's. I normally stick with the pizza, all of which is good however, of the entrees I've had the Chicken franchese is good, spagetti is deliciously done al dente and the mozzarella salad is just average. Glad it's around. Pros: Really cute & rustic to eat in as well more

Nice but Average Pizza 8/27/2006

Another quick pizza stop in NYC. Nice and quite atmosphere, friendly people. Recommended for people in the neighborhood on a nice afternoon. more

Great Pizza 1/25/2006

Had the chance to visit this great establishment on my recent visit to New York. The pizza was recommended by our hotel. Must say they were correct, great pizza, great service. Look forward to visiting again on my trip in a few months Pros: Good food, fair price more

Perfect B&T Lunch 11/30/2005

If you like hanging out with the Long Island crowd and don't expect anything remotely resembling manners, then this place is perfect for you. The counter chefs are consisently rude, and understandably busy. The clientele is dull, and apparently enjoys occupying a table hours after finishing the meal, even better during the lunch rush. If you expect a pleasant host step up and help, forget it. You're lucky to get a glare. Gotta love the midtown charm. The pizza is a step up from the dough slugs often found in the USA, but it is a far cry from Europe. more

A real find! 5/11/2005

If you're in the mood for excellent pizza, pasta and other Italian dishes in a casual but comfortable and attractive space, this is the place to go. The owners - the Librettos - will go out of their way to make you feel like a welcomed regular even if it's your first visit. Maybe that's why so many people keep going back there. And don't let the large portions keep you from ordering dessert - the tiramisu is the best around! more
