Lexington Dental Ctr

I have been using Lexington Dental Center since 2006. over my last 3 visits i received bills after my appointments that were for three time the amount that was reported to me by my insurance company. Similar to Kimberly K's situation below, i contacted their office manager after each of my appointments. i just got told that the amount i was being billed was for ""old claims"". When i asked for an itemized statement all i recieved was someone's handwritten bill on one of their billing sheets. None of which matched anything i received from my insurance company. I have since asked them to remove me from their client list and will submit a complaint to Metlife Dental, as this seem extremely fraudulent that they cannot reconsile with what the insurer has posted. more

I would like to verify that Dr. Pleasant is a Past Distinguished President of the Lexington Kiwanis Club, which is part of the KY-TN District of Kiwanis International. He has been involved with many activities of service and fundraising in the Lexington area. I have known him for many years and as the District Secretary/Treasurer for KT District, I have documented records of these facts. more

Recently,my husband went in for a complete dental exam and consult. On Lexington Dental Center web site they indicate that all new patients are to have a FREE exam and xrays. Soon after, we received a invoice for $120. What happen to FREE! When I called to dispute the invoice, I got the run around the wording that my husband didn't see Dr. Plesant for his consult and it wasn't free. I call this FRAUD! There is no mention of seeing Dr. Pleasant only. My husband, who always does the right thing, started sending in small amounts to pay the balance. When I requested that the money be returned, I am still 3 months later getting the run around, by their so called Office Manager/Treasurer that she needed to ask permission for the refunded money. THIS IS FRAUD! I do not want other patients to experience what we have. Dr. Pleasnat should be ashamed of himself for miss leading his patients. But he is not and never will be.x more

Dr. Damon Pleasant's biography on Lexington Dental Center website claims that he is a former President of the Kiwanis and a member for 35 years. I phoned Ky Tn Kiwanis and they tell me that Dr. Pleasant is no longer a member. How dare you stoop so low as to lie about being part of an organization that does so much to help children for the sake of drumming up extra business? You should be ashamed of yourself. more

Dr. Pleasant is very experienced and highly qualified, and no doubt he does fine work. However, cleanings take absolutely forever, and like most dentists, they are quick to push treatments and dental work even if you don't want it. Everyone is friendly, but we had lots and lots of billing problems (insurance said it was the way it was billed, their office blamed insurance, we were left to work to sort it out). They are priced reasonably, as in, in line with other dentists and the waiting room is large and very nice...but the wait time is at times excruciatingly long, and twice we had appointment times changed without asking if it was ok. PROS: Experienced staff, nice office CONS: Long wait time, billing issues, push lots of work/treatments more
