Best

My husband grew up studying martial arts and he looked into over 10 schools to put our 4 year old daughter in when we moved to Elk Grove. What we love most about Lee's Korean Mart...

Don't sign a contract!!\r \r My kids really enjoyed going here, the people who attend are very nice and it has a good community feel. Master Lee is good with the kids when he is teaching. Often others teach the classes and the other instructors were all good too. I wish I had never signed a contract here and my experience was untainted.\r \r However a few months into our contract I was diagnosed with cancer and had to miss months of work. We suddenly really could not afford this anymore. There was no way out of the contract, Master Lee had already been paid by the third party for the whole year. We were able to postpone payments for a few months at a time, but we still have to pay eventually. We have paid for many months without being able to attend, now that we could attend again we just don't feel comfortable there anymore. I feel like my naivete was taken advantage of and I have been fleeced. I would not be comfortable with myself if I got paid without delivering goods or services. That is not good ethics.\r \r Do a quick search online about martial arts contracts and how to choose a martial arts school to make an informed choice. more

Best Traditional School in Elk Grove 1/8/2012

My husband grew up studying martial arts and he looked into over 10 schools to put our 4 year old daughter in when we moved to Elk Grove. What we love most about Lee's Korean Martial Arts is the family atmosphere. Everyone is always greeted by a smile be it from an instructor, student, or parent. The Elk Grove martial arts academy instructs in both traditional Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do. I love the emphasis on discipline and ethics. My daughter has also become very flexible in just a few months of training! This isn't a ""black belt factory"" school. All students regardless of age are required to successfully test in order to be promoted to their next belt color. I think testing is only once every 3 months, and the students are expected to retain EVERYTHING. I especially like that because I know my daughter is getting a solid foundation of real skills rather than just looking awesome when she kicks. I highly recommend Lee's Korean Martial Arts for kids, teens, adults, and especially as an activity for families. I was very impressed with how many families actually train together at the academy- from those with young children like ourselves to teens, and everyone is just sincerely friendly. more
