Worst Birthday Cake Ever! 8/21/2009

The cake had no moisture, was dry, and unbearable to eat more than a slice. The filling was good (whipped cream and strawberries), but what's the point of good filling if you can't eat the cake. It was a picture cake and the picture came out good, but not so much for the cake itself. I give this place 4 thumbs down including my two big toes, because that's how disappointed I was. Cons: Felt like I was eating Spongebob more

WHAT HAPPENED? 3/16/2009

I believe new ownership is to blame for this travesty of a bakery. Le Bon used to be my usual spot for breakfast and the occasional treat a few years back. It was tasty and not exorbitantly priced like many of the other trendy bakeries were. Now, this place is simply awful: food is terrible, prices have been raised a lot, it was dirty when I came in, service is sub par. I could usually eat anything in terms of sweets, but I literally threw my muffin away it was so bad. When I was ""eating"" there, a woman came in complaining about her cake order and demanded her money back. I can only say: I wish I had been so bold. Pros: This place USED to be good Cons: Now this place is BAD BAD BAD more

Great pastries, Excellent Soups 2/24/2009

I have always favored the small corner bakery over the mega store concept. This small bakery in woodland hills has some of the best pastries and coffee I have found. Miles better than Starbucks or the grocery store across the street. Last week, I tried their soup special, and the Minestrone was excellent. Pros: Fresh food, still warm from the oven Cons: long wait sometimes more

Lousy Cafe Food 2/13/2008

Terrible food. Ordered a French Dip small and it was delivered with no meat. Rip off. I would not recommend this place for there cafe. Cons: Terrible Food more

The Best Bakery in SF Valley! 10/15/2007

Based on the one review previously done for Le Bon, I ordered a cake from them. Every aspect of my experience was wonderful. From the initial phone call, when the French chef got on the line to plan the cake with me, to the friendly, personal service from Al (the owner) when I went to pick up the cake. The cake was both beautiful and delicious, a combination that is often hard to find. Several of our guests said that it was the best cake they had had in a long time (one went as far as saying it was the best cake he had ever had). Lastly, it was HALF the price of the cake I considered getting at Gelson's Victor Benes bakery. Needless to say, I will be returning to Le Bon in the future! Pros: Personal service, FRESHNESS, skilled chef more

The Best Bakery! 8/2/2004

This is a complete bakery with a real french pastry chef and a crew that truly understands the bakery industry. Everything here is made from scratch, including the bagels. For the best bakery this is a true hidden find. I first found out about them on a local cable show 2 D's in L.A. on Time Warner channel 34. Pros: Excellent Quality, Friendly Staff more
