Laxer Long and Savage

It is a factory, take a number and get ready to wait. We have been very unhappy with them. It is impossible to get an appointment that is convenient they tell you what date and time you are coming without bothering to ask what works for you. We are finding a new dentist and a new orthodontist. more

We are extremely happy with Dr. Savage. We went to this office on a recommendation from neighbors and have been impressed. My daughter had several areas of concern that needed special attention. Dr. Savage was thorough in looking at the best solution and also thinking about procedures that would be need in the future. I like how they provide an estimate upfront of how much they anticipate it will cost. After we were home, we received a call to see how my daughter was doing and for us to call if we needed anything or had any questions. They really care about their quality of work, that my daughter was feeling fine after the procedure, and making sure I had all of my questions answered. When I told my pediatrician I was going to Laxer Long and Savage, she said they have an excellent reputation so that was good to hear. When I go I always see lots of parents in the waiting room, so that is a good sign they are doing something right. Everyone has always been really nice and helpful. more

You need to ask yourself if you want your childs dentist to always be there for you. If the answer is yes - Laxer Long and Savage is the place for you. My daughter who is 8 fell at the playground and knocked out her front tooth. We did not have a dentist in the area yet because we just moved to Charlotte. I called Laxer Long and Savage after hours and they did not hesitate to call me back and get my daughter in right away even though I had never been there before and it was a weekend. Dr Long placed the tooth back in the socket and was able to save my daughters permanent tooth. I was fully prepared for my daughter to be walking around with a missing front tooth forever! I am so thankful to Dr Long for everything he has done for us. He is very caring and knowledgable and I will recommend him to everyone! When I am at their office and I see another child come in with a bloody mouth from an accident, I always think back to that day that Dr Long took care of Sarah and it makes me more

Horrible! Dr. Long does not explain anything to you. He gets very offended if you ask questions. There are way too overbooked. Dr. Long has no respect for his patients and does not know what he is doing. They have receptionists working on teeth who have no idea what they are doing. I've never heard of one good experience from this place. more

Dr. Sonny Long is the kindest and most compassionate person I have ever known, His skills are exceptional and I encourage everyone to take the time to research this gentleman's background to learn how outstanding he is! He is truly a dentist's dentist. His management style of kindness and professionalism filters down to his "can-do" staff. They are as sincere and professional as Dr. Long. My daughter has been seeing him for the past five years. If you have to wait, then wait because it is well worth it. I would not take my daughter anywhere else. more

Dr. Long is hands down the best Orth/Dentist we could ask for!!\r My son Conner has been going there for 5 years and we have been treated with nothing but kindness, thoughtfulness and professionalism. Do I wait sometimes, yes and they are as nice about having me wait as they can be and honest to let me know if they are extremely busy. Are there days when I don't see Dr. Long, yes but they let me know up front that his schedule is really full and ask if I have any questions or concerns that they can ask during his procedure on my behalf! My son's teeth look fantastic! and I have not had one negative experience in 5 years. I recomend Dr. Long all the time and wish I could use him and his staff myself! I cant account for any other dr.'s in that practice but Dr. Long and his staff are FANTASTIC!!! You just need to understand that SOO many people feel that way that yes he is busy sometimes :) Patience is needed Occasionally.. :) Thank you Dr. Long for the many hours you spent not bill more

My son has been going there for ortho. I have been unhappy from the get- go. I should have known not to go there when the dentist kept me waiting at my consultation for over an hour then spent less than 5 minutes with me. The recptionists are super sweet but many of the hygienists have attitudes and my son said they NEVER stop talking to one another. The one was even rude to me when I tried to ask when the braces might come off. I have seen the dentist once the whole 18 months we have been. The hygenists walk the kids back out so you don't even have a chance to ask questions. It's a complete mad house all the time and i have felt like a number since the day i walked in there. It's very overcrowded and trying to get appts. is a nightmare! I never complain and have never written one of these reviews but i left there just so annoyed. When you are spending over 5,000 on orthodontics this is NOT the treatment I deserve. DON""T GO THERE...you will not be happy! I will never recommend them to anyone....I changed dentists for my other 2 sons and cannot believe the difference in service. This is what really led me to believe that Laxer and Long are really only in it for the money!!! Cons: everything....biggest mistake more

Great service. My son is seeing Dr. Laxer. They have the best service! A bit hard to make appointments, though, since they have lots of patients. But that's the proof that this pediatric dentist office is great, isn't it? more

My children have been seeing Dr. Judy Laxer for 6 years now. We had some horrible experiences with my oldest at a few pediatric dentist offices and were a little hesitant. My daughter had A LOT of anxiety with doctors of any kind and she needed some pretty extensive work done at an early age. Dr. Laxer was so wonderful with her. Really helped calm her down and get her to relax, and she took excellent care of her during her dental procedures. My daughter has come to LOVE going to the dentist and I owe it to Dr. Laxer. I have never had a single issue with the office. We also so Dr. Savage once and he was great with the kids too. Its a very kid friendly office and waiting area! more

If you're Ok with orthodontic appts that are 10-12 weeks apart because the schedule is too booked...never being able to reschedule unless you wait another 10-12 weeks...always having a long wait when you arrive for your orthodontic appt..always having your child miss school for the ortho appt and the office staff being extremely unsympathetic then this is the office for you! If not, look elsewhere...I will be for my other children! more

Avoid this practice for orthodontics! Too many patients, too few hours and nearly impossible to get and change appts. When my son had his braces put on they estimated 2.5 years. He's had the braces on over 4 years now...the appts are scheduled out 10 - 12 weeks and don't even think about having to reschedule...then you're out another 10 - 12 weeks. Plus the orthodontic hours are only 7:45 - 4'ish only 3 or 4 days a week so your children need to always miss school for the appts. and if you're a working parent..you're missing work to make these appts. Don't understand why they can't have some evening or weekend hours. The dentist and his dental staff are very nice, but the office staff...not so much. Also, very expensive. Pros: Teeth look very good Cons: Impossible to get appts in reasonable amt of time! Bad hours for working parents and HS students only hours available are during school hours. Always a long wait. more

I took my daughter to see Dr. Savage and with all the hesitation I had because of how scared she was originally, he made it a stressfree and wonderful visit. Before we even got to the car she was asking when she can go back!!! more

We see Dr Savage at Laxer, long & Savage and we LOVE him, he is so good with my kids. The office staff is wonderful too, we have been going there for 4 years and never had one bad experience. more
