Just polished off leftovers from last night's visit to Lawry's. Having read other reviews, I made reservations a week in advance. This was barely enough time! I requested the Oval Room, though I'm not sure if that's what I got. My only complaint about the ambiance is that it's not very intimate; I felt far away from my date. Wherever you sit, be prepared to hear "Happy Birthday," throughout the night! My experience was typical to other happy reviews: the salad is really great, the meat was perfectly prepared (medium rare) and tender, the lobster was fine, and the mashed potatoes were very bland, but were fine with some seasoned salt and pepper added. The portions are more than enough for one meal. My suggestion: insist on boxing lobster separately! The bill for 2 Lawry's cut steaks, one with lobster, and one Coke: $78.45. A little steep, but not bad.
Pros: Great steak, great salad, quick service
Cons: Valet, not intimate setting, yorkshire pudding
