Terrible dining experience 6/16/2010

I can't rate LAVO as a club, but my dining experience there was terrible. The music was so loud it was impossible to carry on a conversation with anyone at the table. The service was extremely slow and the dining area was so cramped I had people running into me the entire meal. Once our food finally did arrive, the waiter informed me that my meal had been dropped and it would be another 15-20 minutes- I did not receive any comps for having my food dropped after already waiting an hour and a half. I ordered the veal parmigiana and my meal was mediocre at best; it was smothered and tomato sauce and drowned in cheese- so much so that you couldn't even taste the veal. Cons: Very loud techno, extremely slow service, mediocre food more

it's just vegas 5/22/2010

if you are out in vegas to party you will love this place. if you are in vegas to not party and to have decent italian food, you better go to another place. this is more a bar/lounge/restaurant/club(upstairs). it looks quite nice, the design of the restaurant is well done. we had dinner here after a show at the hotel. we received mediocre italian dishes. i had tempura crab as appetizer...well it's tempura...there isn't much you can screw up on it... my main course was grilled tuna with roasted artichokes, which was quite good. the tuna was very fresh, the artichokes were very tasty as well, unfotunately too salty though... my husband had veal parmigiano which was a slice of veal with ton of tomato sauce and cheese on top of it. and this was a dish any new york pizza place could have done better. overall, i doubt i would want to go back and eat here again. for drinks and party time this is a great place, but that's it... Pros: come here to be seen not to enjoy the food Cons: this is not good italian food more

possibility for a good time...meh 7/25/2009

You really can't judge a club by its goers. I mean- for the most part. It's LLE And as much as I have to say about how I thoroughly enjoyed LAVO last night I just didn't love the 21st birthday party next to me. I was in a sorority in college- so I get it. I understand the need to get violently trashy sometimes. But I also had 'sisters 'to make sure I went home with some dignity. Let me explain as I get into this fair review. Juli and I were meeting friends at the Palazzo for a birthday party...... Bad Food - Pretentious Service 4/7/2009

My meal at Lavo was one of the worst meals I have had in a very long time. My husband and I order an appetizer and a salad. The Kobe Beef Rice Ball appetizer was ok and the Beet with Goat Cheese salad was overdressed. The entrees were worse. I had Spaghetti Carbonara . The portion was huge but the flavor was missing. My husband had Lobster Risotto. The Risotto was fishy and gummy. Servers and management were insincere and awkward. Absolutely, do not go here. You can do so much better in Las Vegas. The hotel is offering Lavo coupons to entice visitors. Do not be fooled. Pros: Nice Decor Cons: Food and Service more

Bad service and ultra expensive hookah 1/19/2009

We stopped by at Lavo during my friend's bachelor party weekend. We sat outside so that we could smoke the hookah. The waitress had to be begged to serve us. When she finally arrived with our hookah, she let us know that it cost $75! Most hookah places charge anywhere from $10 to $20 for a hookah. Obviously, they're overcharging... Of course, we expected to pay a premium for smoking hookah on the Vegas Strip, but $75?!!? The waitress didn't even refresh the charcoal. Horrible experience. It didn't help that all the rest of the patrons looked like they were teenagers... Not recommended. more

  • The Scene
The décor throughout LAVO is, in a word, stunning. Starting in the lounge, the entryway introduces the "bathhouse" vibe with worn tile walls and water stained plaster. Overhead, 20-foot ceilings of weathered wooden beams draw the eye upwards as diners sit in leather booths and Moroccan tables. Turkish water basins flank a glass and wood screened bridge that leads to the 4,500-square-foot, second-floor nightclub, which features 40 bottle service tables.

    The Food
Bucking the appetizer and entrée trend, the classic Mediterranean dishes served here are meant to be shared and they are brought out throughout the course of the meal. Menu items include a wide range of dishes with Spanish, French and Italian influences. The restaurant seats 300 people and includes a 20 person private dining room and room for 100 on the outdoor Strip-side patio.
