IF YOU LOVE TO WAIT.... 9/13/2010

If you love to wait go here. We've been taking our cat here for years and EVERY time we spend a good hour or more in the waiting room. Even if it's a simple drop off or pick up from boarding. While the reception staff is nice, they have no respect for their customers time. Get it together guys- it's not rocket science. more

I will never take any of my animals to this place ever again! Dr. Pruss nearly killed my cat. She completely diagnosed my bagel wrong. She is a thief and has bad karma coming her way, as dose the entire hospital. She is the worst vet I have ever seen in my life. I will do everything in my power to have this place shut down for good. Not to mention the law suits coming to them! Brandon the "office manager" is another loser. He should have his license taking away. After they almost killed my cat by giving Morphine (which you DON'T do) for 6 days they tried to charged me $2,200 for NOTHING! I hate this place with a passion and I highly recommend everyone finding another vet before they try to kill your animal too! Pros: NONE Cons: EVERYTHING more

Friendly Staff & nice facility 1/22/2010

Dr. Hu - She was amazing. Great people skills & connected with my 180lbs. English Mastiff right away. Like any site you go to you will get someone that had a bad experience. Not me, my experience with all of the staff & Dr. was excellent. I have been to enough pet hospitals to know that this one is very good. :) Pros: Clean & happy environment Cons: Depending on when you go, parking could be a walk more

Had a decent and honest experience 5/6/2009

I had a negative experience at the Hollywood Animal Hospital, so I took my choking cat to Laurel after another clinic in Hollywood recommended them. Pros: Vet was direct, kind and economic Cons: assistant dropped my cat in bag on the counter more

Dr. Todd is kind and wonderful. 3/11/2009

I have been going to Laurel Pet Hospital for almost ten years on a recommendation from a friend. Dr. Todd has always been absolutely kind and gentle with my cat. I trust him immensely. He always makes sure you understand your options before doing anything. He doesn't encourage unnecessary testing or procedures, and I have found the pricing to be reasonable. The staff has always been nothing but very friendly. They obviously love animals. Yes, the office can get busy, but I have never waited long enough to get frustrated (even on a Saturday). more

Vet Appears Good, Reception is Disgraceful 6/10/2008

When approaching something as personal and emotional as pet care, service is by far the most important aspect when trying a new veterinarian. Although my experience with the veterinarian was for appearances sake outstanding - only time will tell - the coldness and honestly rudeness of the reception and front desk staff make me pause as to whether I will ever return. I was greeted as if I was interrupting something, and I was forced to make my own introduction to blank stares. After the appointment when told to return to the front desk by the Doctor, I was greeted by a "What's up?" by one of the staff, as if I had been an annoyance. Pros: Vet Seemed Caring Cons: Front Desk Makes Me Question Overall Quality more

Worst customer service I have experienced in my life. 3/15/2008

All of my friends have discontinued doing business at this place because of the RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL front desk staff. I have tried to hang on because I adore the vets, Dr. Seoud and Dr. Todd. Unfortunately, now that I have had one more bad experience, I too will not return. It is unfortunate that the unacceptabley rude staff are driving away the business. It is also expensive. They'd have to be paying me to tolerate this rude treatment. A staff member yelled at me! Pros: Great vets Cons: customers treated very poorly, no parking more

Really just in it for the money... 9/14/2007

One of my indoor cats got out, and brought back a few fleas. He was a very clean cat, as he washed himself regularly. He had swallowed a few fleas and developed worms. Brought in the stool samples and confirmed the diagnosis. At the time the household had four cats (no, i'm not that crazy cat guy, but my girlfriend at the time had two of her own), and they required me to bring in all four cats to disperse worm medicine. Not really sure why they had me bring all four, but I soon realized why. Because they were going to charge me for medical visits on all cats. Wow! That adds up. Each cat was in custody for about 30 seconds to one minute, to be weighed. Something I could have done at home, for free. Then, Instead of administering the latest in pet care (a no fail shot for worms), they had me dispense extremely expensive pills to all four cats over a course of two weeks. Well, when the pills had not worked, they asked me to repeat the whole process over, including bringing all four cats in again. Pros: nice neighborhood, clean facility in the front anyway. Cons: expensive, practices are profit driven, rather than convenient or cost effective. more

Practice doesnt make perfect 6/5/2007

Dr. Seoud has a wonderful bedside manner. however, his attitude does not compensate for his lack of knowldge. I had a terrible emergency with a foxtail in my dog's throat, which Dr. Seoud could not treat. The practice insisted my dog needed IMMEDIATE medical attention (a foxtail had lodged in her trachea and the absess threatened to drain into her lungs). They offered to "attempt" to remove the foxtail, although no one at the practice had any experience and could not assure me my pet would survive. When I asked where I should take my dog, they gave me the name of the VCA, but when I asked them for the number, they insisted that I look it up myself. With no help from the staff, and no plausible treatment options, i was sent into a panic that i would have to leave work to rescue my dog from their incompetent hands. When I arrived at laurel pet hospital, Dr. Seoud would not release my "dying" pet without the propre paperwork being filled out (although I had been a regular patient for 3 years). This took over 40 minutes at the understaffed and aloof front desk. When I was finally attended to, they tried to sell me ear infection medicine... although the problem was a foxtail lodged in her throat... huh? I had been a loyal customer there and expected, because of the inflated prices, to recieve above average attention. Unfortunately, you don't always get what you pay for. Pros: nice location Cons: unecessary and expensive, dangerous more

Expensive without reason, rude receptionists, medication did not cure the problem! 5/12/2007

My new puppy needed her puppy vaccines so I brought her there because of the reviews I read. I walked out spending over $100 for second round vaccines which is higher than any other place I called. So then when she reached 4 months old I called and they said it was another $120 for final round shots! They make you pay a $50 visiting fee each time you go in for vaccines. Ridiculous! When I asked why they charged so much more than any other place, the receptionist said it was because "all vets are different" I'm like what?! What kind of answer is that? Anyhow I also was prescribed some ear medication for my pup, which didn't help her one bit. I'm so frustrated and need to find a reasonable, proficient and honest vet with friendly receptionists. I will never go back to Laurel. more

Thanks Laurel Pet Hospital for Taking All My Money! 4/5/2007

Do not, I repeat DO NOT take your pet here. more

Great Value for Veterinary Care 1/6/2007

This is a great veterinary practice and is always busy and prices are much more reasonable than most in the Burbank/Studio City area so it is worth the drive. I saved $100 in teeth cleaning by driving into Los Angeles rather than Burbank/Studio City where I live. more

Great Vet! 12/30/2006

I have been taking my two dogs and cat to Dr. Monnet since I moved here from NYC. Two of my animals have some type of health issue, so unfortunately, I spend a lot of time going to vets. Dr. Monnet has been great and caring with all 3 animals. She has even personally called to follow-up with my dog, when she had a suspicious Canine cough, which I discovered was just "Canine Influenza" which is common, especially in California. more

Dr. Todd is really just terrific - best I've ever been to. 10/18/2006

I just want to share (briefly) my experience with Dr. Todd. I brought my elderly (13 year old) dog to see him when we woke up one morning and she could not stand up or walk. She had been having problems with her hips, so walking had not been perfect for a while, but this was an abrubt and dramatic decline. I had not seen Dr. Todd before, but based on the reviews citysearch I gave him a go. more

Excellent vet! 9/27/2006

I was looking for a vet for my cat, whom suffers from frequent bladder infections. I got a referral to Dr. Todd at the Laurel Pet Hospital. He was so kind and professional and was really gentle with my cat. He explained everything and was so patient with my questions. I've been to several vets, and like him the best! He makes you and your pet feel so comfortable. You can tell that he really loves animals and his job! I'm so glad I found him! Pros: Well-trained, professional staff. Clean office. Kind, knowledgable doctor. Cons: Finding street parking can be tough. more

Great Vet! 9/5/2006

Heard great things about Dr. Todd and decided to give him a try. Will definitely go back! He gave a very through examination and truly cared about the well-being of our cat. A+++ Pros: Great Attitude Cons: Parking more

Dr. Seoud is a fantastic, caring & competent VET 7/16/2006

My labadorable has been around the Vet Pack in numerous states. He has many ailments - but Dr. Seoud's holistic approach combined with his love of animals has added to the quality of Bones' life. I absolutely would recommend Dr. Seoud for any pet owner whom desires a Vet that can provide alternative methods of healing (vitamin shots, herbal medicine, acupuncture) as well as a wealth of medical experience.! Pros: Responsive staff to any animal in emergency. Laurel Pet took in my dog immediately when his own VET denied treatment when he was sick! more

Thank you Dr. Todd! 6/26/2006

After trying everything for weeks, everyone agreed that my 15 1/2 year old dog had been suffering long enough. So, I brought her in to Laurel Pet hospital to be put down. I cried my eyes out all the way there, talking to her and hoping she understood what I was doing. The look in her eyes told me she was very ready. After meeting with Dr. Todd for the first time, he looked at her and said, "please let me do a few tests, to me she doesn't look like it's time." I thought this was a waste of time and my money. But I agreed. He found nothing, just like I thought. But, he asked me to please try giving her 2 pills and some liquid for 5 days. "If this doesn't work, bring her in and we'll do it" he said. more

Dr. Todd Helped Me in the Worst Time 5/4/2006

I had to put my dear German Shepherd down last week, and not only was Dr. Todd incredibly supportive, he made sure HE could sleep at night making this decision and showed a rare conscience. Not only that, he spent time with me later in the week, when I was still racked with grief and guilt and made me feel like I had truly done the only humane and loving thing I could do. What a joy to know there are people like him in Los Angeles (or anywhere else, for that matter). HIGHLY recommended. Pros: expertise, caring, cost more
