While Volant, PA is a little drive from Erie it is definitely worth the trip. The quaint town has a large Amish community that sells many of its trades to the visitors. And for a unique experience, stop by the Cheese Haus and pick up an array of delicious meats and cheeses, a loaf of fresh baked homemade Amish bread and slip into the car with your honey to enjoy a very low key, down to earth kind of lunch together.
Got the kids with you? Don't fret, this will be a memory maker they will share forever. My kids still talk about the days we'd go to Volant and enjoy a loaf of bread, some fresh made Amish cheese and lunch meats and make our own little restaurant in the car!
