Another Chicago style restaurant that just doesn’t get it. If you want your food to have the Chicago style and taste, you have to pay attention to ALL of the details.
OK, so I decided to try a Chicago Dog at Eddie’s Deli. My first impression when I walked in was Holy Smoke, a hot dog for $4.50. You have got to be kidding me.
But I was there, so I tried one anyway, and here’s the scoop:
1. Poppy seed bun. Perfect.
2. Condiments. Perfect.
3. Hot dog size. All wrong. Too big and too long for the bun.
4. Hot dog taste. All wrong. It was tasteless. A tasteless hot dog?
5. Fries. No fries. Really. No fries. What’s wrong with these people?
Not worth a second visit. When will Portillos open a restaurant down here?
