I found out about Lather through a bridal expo and decided to check it out. Katie was my stylist and I was quick to book another appointment. She gave me a great cut and blow out and I really enjoyed talking with her. I've also booked my wedding hair and makeup with Lather; the layout of the salon and the energy of the stylists create a great atmosphere and I can't wait to be there with all of my bridesmaids. I've finally found a salon I'm going to stick with! more

Very Friendly, Great Prices 10/2/2010

I am not from Raleigh so I was unfamiliar with hair salons in the area. I was very nervous so when I searched for a hair salon online, Lather Hair Salon was the top search result, over 50 reviews, and 5 stars. After I looked at their website, I decided that this place was going to be the one I put my trust in. When I got there, everyone was friendly from the moment I stepped in the front door. The wait was short and when Rebecca asked me what I wanted, I explained that I wasn't really sure. I told her that I am getting married in a year, that I want my hair long so I can do whatever I want with it, but that it desperately needed to be cleaned up. I think she did a great job giving me a ""new"" hair cut when I really wasn't sure how I wanted it to look. My favorite thing was the price! I am used to paying upwards of $50-60 for a hair cut, where I am from. Not only were their prices great, but I got a 20% off coupon from their website for 1st time clients, and they gave me 2 more opportunities to get discounts on my next visit when I got there. I love that they care about their clients enough to help save them money! more

Great Experience! 10/1/2010

As a client for 1.5 years, I am really impressed by both Whitney and Schuyler. Whitney has done my hair almost every time I have come to Lather. She always listens well, is good at explaining what she is going to do, and is really nice. She also really seems to know the products well - I have gotten several styling products and shampoos based on her recommendations. I trust her more than any other stylist I have ever had. I just got highlights for the first time, and she did them perfectly. In the past, at other salons, I would come home upset about my hair. But she always delivers! Schuyler has the best attitude and is very professional. She seems to do her job thoroughly and goes above and beyond what I would expect in an office manager. The interactions I have had with her have always been pleasant, and I have been surprised at how well taken care of I have felt as a client. She is truly an asset to your company. Congratulations on almost 2 years in business - I wish you continued success. more

Continue to have a GREAT experience! 10/1/2010

I have been going to Lather Hair Salon for a little over a year now and have always had a GREAT experience. The staff is very friendly and professional and it's evident that they strive for excellent customer service. I love that they have a facebook page and constantly offer good deals. They are also wonderful about doing things to give back to the community. I go to Jessica every 7-8 weeks for partial highlights, cut, & a brow wax and LOVE her! She is so good with finding the right color and I always leave very pleased. I was nervous about starting the highlight process and someone recommended Jessica to me and I am so glad they did! Lather Hair Salon is definitely worth trying out and I bet you'll become a regular customer! Enjoy! more

Consistently great haircuts! 9/29/2010

I've been getting my hair cut at Lather for about a year & a half. All of the stylists are great - and CONSISTENT! I've tried a number of places that do well the first time, but the second cut disappoints. Not so at Lather. Thanks for my fabulous hair! more

Lather hair salon and owner Jessica are the best!! I have had my hair done there since they have been open and I couldn't be happier. I love how Jessica tells me if she thinks my ideas are not what will look good on me! When I go there I appreciate her experience, knowledge, and advice!! Loving Lather 9/25/2010

I have always struggled to find a stylist/salon good enough to cut my hair more than once. After visiting Lather one time I became a loyal customer. Whitney is my stylist and I absolutely love her. I like being able to go in and talk about the look I'm going for and having someone patient enough to talk about how they plan on achieving the look before getting scissor happy. Everyone there is friendly, the salon is extremely clean and modern, and if you are a fan on Facebook the savings and discounts are AWESOME! If anyone asks me where to get a haircut I always recommend Lather. While Whitney is my stylist my friends all see someone different and I haven't heard any complaints from them. If you need a haircut, or are looking for a new style visit Lather. (and to speak to the customer that said Lather writes their own good reviews, I do not work at Lather, I have been a paying customer for over a year now!) more

Lather is a fabulous salon. I'm very picky about who styles my hair and was extremely fickle when trying different places after moving back to Raleigh. I finally found my fit at Lather with Whitney. Lather has a friendly staff that completely work to meet my needs. They frequently has specials on products and services and keep their customers posted on new ones. Whitney is experienced, friendly, personable, and very knowledgeable. She listens to whatever ideas I have for my hair and ensures I am happy with my hair each time. I'm so happy I found this salon! I would recommend it to anyone! more

Lather Hair Salon is WONDERFUL!!! 9/24/2010

When I moved to Raleigh a year and half ago, I decided to look for a new place for my hair. I am from Jacksonville, North Carolina and I wanted to find a place in Raleigh that gave great service but didn't cost an arm and a leg! Lather Hair Salon is right down the road from my apartment so it is very convenient for me. The first time I was there, I got my hair highlighted and cut which took Whitney about 2 hours because my hair is long and thick but she did the best job! Shortly after that, I got engaged and starting coming in to see Whitney every 6 weeks to keep my hair in good shape for the wedding. Everytime that I have been to Lather has been a great experience and Whitney does a phenomenal job and she's very personable and she remembers what we are trying to accomplish with my hair everytime I go in there! They also offer you a cold soda or water whenever I am in there. Also, the 2nd time that I had an appointment to go in to see Whitney- I had just got a new puppy who was only 6 weeks old. Needless to say she was tiny and hurt herself in her kennel so I didn't want to leave her alone and they let me bring my dog in there and Schuyler held my dog while I was getting my hair done. Needless to say, I don't think most businesses would allow this but it was very helpful and got them an A+ in my book!! more

I love Lather. Warm, inviting salon. Smaller establishment so you don't feel lost in the shuffle. All of their employees are very professional and the salon is clean. I have gotten so many compliments on my cut and color. I will not go anywhere else. Both my husband and I go to Becky. She is extremely good at her work. more

Always leave looking and feeling great! 9/24/2010

I have been going to Lather for a while now, based on a recommendation from a friend. They are always nice when you enter, can always accommodate you with an appointment and you always leave looking great. I have met with Whitney several times, who is super sweet and very good. I have been with other stylists as well - I love them all! They have often have specials and contests that show their connection with the community and their customers. Their location is perfect (and there is a great nail salon right next door too!). I look forward to going to Lather and tell my friends to go too. more

Never again! 8/13/2010

I find it hard to believe there are only two other complaints about this place, which makes me think the owner and employees post fake positive reviews. I visited the salon yesterday and received one of the worst experiences of my life. They provided me with a stylist who was supposed to be good and experienced and mangled my hair. I complained to the owner right away and I got a sorry look on her face but not much else. This place is just having running people in, giving bad cuts, and taking their money. I would advise any female to stay away from such a poorly run establishment. We don't go to these place only to get a bad haircut and not have something properly done about it. more

WORST SERVICE EVER 8/13/2010

I can't even begin to express my disgust with this salon. I went to get my hair dyed a few days ago and I had numerous problems with this. First I was quoted a price in the 120 range and given a final bill of 180. I am not new to having my hair done and so I didn't notice any special ""treatments"" that were given to me to even warrant this drastic increase in price. My second problem with them is that they messed up the color. I was very clear as to what I wanted and even after I expressed my in the color their only response was maybe if you use a certain shampoo after a few weeks it will be the light color you seek. I did not pay $180 to get such a response. The inexperienced individual was called Rebecca. My final complaint to this place is when I called up the owner and was told that they are not in the business to correct any damage done. What kind of answer is that when you are in the customer service business? I understand a poor haircut where you may only pay up to $50, but when you're paying close to $200 then you have a serious lapse of judgement and bad business sense to not help out in some manner. This place is utterly worthless and not worth anyones time. more
