Permanent Customer!! 11/8/2005

For years I have been battling with different hairstylists to cut my hair the way I want, not what they feel I should have. My battle is over!! Zoia & Scott are great!! They ask me what I want and actually give it to me. Scott does wonders with highlights!! Great atmosphere..good music..I leave there smiling everytime!! I found my place!! more

Horrible. 11/8/2005

My stylist hardly spoke to me the entire time I was there. After she washed my hair, she put me under the dryer and left. She neglected to put a towel around my neck so I was dripping all over. The color came out unevenly and faded in a week. Although the cut looked good for about two days, it's a wreck now. Pieces of my bangs were cut so short they actually stick up in the air. The entire experience was not worth the money. I've had bad haircuts in the past but at least they were workable. This one is a disaster. Salon Zoia was simply horrible. Cons: Overpriced more

I went to Salon Zola after reading the reviews on City Search. The staff was very nice. Ines did my highlights and cut my hair. She did a great job. I have gotten lots of complements on my hair. Scott is fabulous! 11/2/2005

Went to this salon based on these reviews and the fact that it is a block away from my home. Scott is an amazing colorist and a very nice person. I've always felt uncomfortable going to a new hair salon based on the fact that my mother when I was a kid always had me get permanents because my hair is naturally straight (God rest her soul - I love you mom - but pleasse!). Scott right away told me how beautiful my hair was and did an amazing job with both the color and cut. He's amazing and so are also all the other people there who make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. I've been to other much more expensive and so called ""hip"" places before but believe me for much less money, you'll be treated better and get a better style. Bravo Scott!!! Chelsea highly recommends Salon Zoia, still an E. Village secret (sort of...shhhhhhhhh), for an updated hairstyle and cut! We love SCOTT! You'll get a warm and friendly master stylist at a cost that your parents won't frown upon. Yes, there is still a premier hair salon that offers appropriate rates for kids and young teens! My mom likes that part! Scott is a gentle, kind & patient master cutter and color stylist! He rocks & you will too when you refresh your do tomorrow @ Salon Zoia! more

I called on a whim and got an appointment for the same day. As soon as I met Scott, I knew I was in good hands. He did a great coloring job. Ines finished off my cut. I am very pleased with the final look - they both know a lot about creating versatile hairstyles. more

Ines: Best haircut I've ever had 9/23/2005

Ines cut my hair today and I couldn't be more pleased with her work. She was extremely attentive, took her time and layered my hair exactly like I requested. She analyzed, flipped and cut my hair from all angles using different techniques to get it to lay just right. Her care and attention to detail really shine through- I felt like priority no. 1 for nearly two hours. The cut and blow-out were the best I've ever gotten, period. Ines did my cut and color and it's AMAZING! I don't think I've ever had such a good cut, and the color is beautiful. The salon is really roomy and open and has a great low-key atmosphere. It was totally worth the trip downtown. more

Super stylist, maybe best labeled as an artist! 9/18/2005

I have been a long term client at a couple of very, high end salons in NYC, Zoia gives a cut worthy of any salon in the city. She is able to put the right style on you, not a thing that can be taught. She is an artist with hair. I have sent many friends to her and all are very happy. Inez is a great colorist and Scott has cut my daughter's hair. We have never had a bad experience!! Plus the wine next door is a big bonus. Salon Zoia is a hidden treasure! 9/16/2005

Scott at Salon Zoia is a gem! I've been searching for a new salon for awhile and was fearful to try another. A girlfriend had read about Salon Zoia on City Search and asked me to take peek at the online reviews. The reviews were excellent. I got a consultation with Scott that night and an appointment the next day. Scott is an extremely talented colorist and puts you at ease immediately. My highlights are gorgeous!!! AND my boyfriend loves what Scott did to my hair! BTW, Scott worked on a client who needed corrective color while I was there and the results were amazing! If you need a good colorist who will listen, Scott is your man! The staff are very friendly and concerned about your comfort. The attached coffee bar is a plus! I'm looking forward to my next visit! more

This is a great place! 9/7/2005

First time patron! Ines did my hair color and made up this beautiful brunette base coat to cover up all the other colors in my hair. Zoia cut my hair and I'll go back to her as long as she's around. She gave me the best haircut. She talked to me, listened to me, looked at some pictures, had an opinion, got an idea of what I wanted and what she thought would suit me and went for it. She took 6 inches of my hair and gave me a great style that I can blow out, straighten, curl, play with and do myself, AND a style that I can leave alone to dry and for the first time ever, looks great that way too. I've found a place I can go back to, and will! more

Absolutely Fabulous!! 8/25/2005

Scott is absolutely phenomenal. I came to the salon with over processed hair full of yellow highlights. Scott spent time going over the possible solutions for it until I felt absolutely comfortable. I did not fill pressured to make a decision based on the amount of money it will bring to the salon. As a result, I walked out of the salon with full head of gorgeous, healthy looking hair, no more yellow over processed strands!! I am trilled with my new hair color - thank you thank you!! Reliable, consistent and fabulous!! 8/22/2005

Coming from California, it was hard to find a salon in NYC that knew how to do natural looking blond highlights. Not funky, chunky east village punky ones, but beautiful sun-kissed highlights that are able to grow in with time and not look like you need an immediate touch up. Scott does an amazing job with my highlights and Zoia gives the most amazing haircuts. I had extensions for three years and my hair was in awful shape. I have been going to Zoia for over 6 months now and my haircuts are amazing, and my hair is growing in beautifully with tons of volume. i went salon zoia the other day,it was great ines did my hair.my highlites where beautiful my hair cut was the best i had in a while at first i was freaking out cause i was sitting at her chair for a along time i was saying to myself could this be bet it was worth it in the end ines thanks for everything god bless you ..(p.s. tell your wash girl and receptionist i took there advise....thanks) Pros: inexpensive, friendly, good staff Cons: no parking, kids running around more

Don't be afraid to wash your hair 8/3/2005

I had an appointment with Ines over the weekend. She was extremely attentive and really listened to how I wanted to tone down the exsisting blond highlights of my hair. I couldn't believe how long I was sitting in her chair, but that is because she was so attentive and meticulous about my haircut as well. I was more than satisfied with my color and cut that day and two days later when I gave in to wash the genius blowout away my hair still looks fantastic. Thanks Ines!
