Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant

The service here tonight was absolutely awful and unacceptable! The waitress not only shunned us for splitting fajitas, she never refilled drinks, only brought 3 tortillas for the fajitas and informed us we would be charged for more, and only refilled chips and salsa once upon asking, then informed us we would be charged for our 3rd basket of chips due to us splitting our meal. I will not be returning to this restaurant! more

One word... HORRIBLE! It should have been our first clue when the place was DEAD on a Thursday night (nothing in Cool Springs is dead on any night). It took forever to get helped. Then, when my order of Carnitas came, it wasn't much different than dried shoe leather. I returned it and ordered the chile Relleno plate which had literally TABLESPOONS grease on the plate. (yes, I realize they are deep fried, but it's like they took it out of the fryer with a spoon and tossed it on the plate. Disgusting!!!) What's worse is the manager came over to ask me what was wrong and started arguing with me about the quality of the food. I used to live 10 minutes from Mexico... I KNOW good mexican food. This is NOT it. Sad, because Las Palmas USED to be the best in Nashville. Not anymore. :o( more

I have been going to Las Palmas for years and years...ever since I was a small child. Not at just this location, but several around the Nashville area and it has always been a favorite of mine. There have been some experiences better than others, however, I was VERY disappointed with the service that my fiance and I received tonight. Since he and I work in the Franklin area, we decided that on his meal break that we would love some good Mexican food and instantly chose one of our most favorite restaurants. We only get an hour break, but have always managed to enjoy our food and make it back to work on time. When we arrived, we were seated promptly since it wasn't extremely busy for a Saturday night. We are usually brought our chips and salsa within a minute or two of sitting down, however, minutes and minutes went by. He and I had been there enough times before to obviously know what we wanted to order and were waiting patiently. Servers would continuously pass us by without acknowledging us. Finally, after about a good 10-12 minutes of waiting, a server said that he would be with us momentarily. So we waited about another 5-8 minutes, when I saw him heading toward our table, then suddenly passed by us to serve another two tables that had been seated AFTER us. Now at this point, my fiance was getting very frustrated since it was his meal break that was slowly passing by (I was already off work). Even the hostess passed us several times not even acknowledging the fact that we were waiting to still be served. He and I knew that even if were going to get served, that there would be no tip given whatsoever, so we decided to get up and walk out. Oh, let me not forget the fact that my fiance just shoved the menus right off the table onto the floor, which I did end up picking up. Sorry for such a long story, but the bottom line is that I will NOT be returning to this particular Las Palmas again. Sure, they are not going to be affected by their losing of one customer, but in my job, customer service reflects everything and poor service like that would not be tolerated in a heartbeat in my job position. more

I prefer this style of mexican restaurant but I didn't really like this place. There was no cilantro in the salsa and it was pretty bland. The ground beef wasn't great. My cousin got chicken with the cheese sauce and it was pretty good. I'll keep looking for a place to go in the Brentwood/Franklin area. more

This is one of the best bargains in town. Great food. Quick service. Friendly staff. And best of all, eating here won't hurt your wallet too much. Pros: Great value Cons: Ambiance is average more

I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant in my life. My friend ordered a salad and is still not really sure if she got what she ordered - when asked the manager kept changing his mind as to whether or not she got what she ordered. Her salad came and was sitting with an obscene amount of water on the plate to the point where it was almost a lettuce soup. She couldn't flag down the waiter as it was busy on a Friday evening and tried to make the best of it by eating the chicken on the top of the salad. When the waiter came to bring the checks my friend asked to see the manager to let him know about the state of her salad - she did so in a kind way, not rude at all - and when the manager came he immediately started to defend himself saying that the salad was washed in water and was wet because of it. When we pointed out that no other restaurant had the problem of drenching their salads in water he said that no one else does it right. He wouldn't give my friend any discount on her salad because she had eaten the chicken. Instead of listening to and trying to make the customers happy he was rude and obnoxious and created a scene in the restaurant. When asked if he was willing to give up five customers (there were five of us there) forever over a $7.00 salad he said he was and told us that he couldn't deal with us because he had more important customers. I know this is a chain in Nashville and is very well known around town, and no one I know has had an experience like this one, but this manager's behavior was inexcusable and I am certain that I will never again return to this establishment. I love this Las Palmas...great for kids, easy on the wallet...patio dining. Try the mashed potato burrito, the fajita burrito, the excellent white cheese dip. We try to go at least twice a month. more
