We have been going to this Las Palmas for over 18 yrs. It is a family tradition. Love it!

Editorial review from Citysearch 6/9/2013

Las Palmas was a very tasty and affordable place to dine when they opened. Since then, they have raised their prices so high and cut WAY BACK on the portion size, that you would think that they are some sort of gourmet restaurant: they aren't! Nashville is FULL of Mexican places to eat. Some good, some not so good... but NONE are as expensive as Las Palmas. I mean, Dammit Man, 11 bucks for a small single order of fajitas?? Ridiculous. I have written to them and told them, and they just raised the price again. My parents have gone there for years, but no more... \r \r Las Palmas is a rip off now and not even that good anymore... Go somewhere else because they are too stupid to change and they will lose their business patrons. Americans are not stupid, and LP has lost us as customers... more

Diarrhea anyone?? 4/21/2011

So, yet another ""Mexican"" place in Nashville. I'm not sure how any of them are any different from each-other. Las Palmas, La Hacienda, El Sombrero, Tacos y Mariscos Lopez. It's all the same slop: 1) Government cheeze whiz 2) ""Salsa"" that's pureed canned tomatoes 3) Every meat product tastes like fajitas 4) Orange rice that tastes like dishwater 5) Brown beans 6) Wet lettuce that serves as a bed for guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, radishes, etc. 7) Giant margaritas so you forget the fact that you're not eating real Mexican food. I've spent a good deal of time in Mexico, and these restaurants do not serve anything close to what Mexicans serve/eat. I think that Las Palmas made the model, and everyone else followed suit with the same, bland food. For example, what do you think of when you think of Mexican food? Do you think of hard-shell tacos with ground beef? If so, then this is the place for you. If on the other hand, you think of delicious tacos al pastor with fresh lime, onion, cilantro and pineapple, then go somewhere else. There's nothing authentic about this place. It's not Mexican, it's not Tex-Mex. It's what your high school cafeteria would serve if they served Mexican food. The last two times I ate at Las Palmas, I got food poisoning and was broadcasting my meal across the porcelain bowl in my bathroom for 2 days. I highly recommend that you DON'T each the enchiladas (or anything for that matter, unless you like to splatter). more

The Palms 3/9/2011

The salsa is delicious. The chips are plentiful. The house margaritas burn. The staff is always familiar. I think the same guy has been running the register for 6+ years. The food is consistent. Las Palmas is sort of a comfort food, because the food will always taste the same. It's not the best in town, but the price is right. more

About as bad as it gets 2/11/2011

Have gone to this place on and off for years but never thought it was great. Well, went this week with 2 others and it was not busy. Two of us had margaritas on the rocks, but just one, because they were NASTY. They both tasted like cleaning solution with a little booze thrown in. Maybe because they were happy hour margaritas??? more

Yummy yum yumm 1/13/2011

This place is really my favorite Mexican resaturant. I always get the same thing which is hardly ever served at any other Mexican restaurant and I can't get enough of the way they make it!! Topped with a margarita on the rocks it's hard to beat! more

Bad Service and Bad Food Quality 7/9/2010

This place has really gone downhill. It used to be one of my favorite spots. Lately every time we go in there the service and food have gotten consistently worse. Today I got takeout that was really bad and marked my official last visit to this restaurant. Chips are always cold. Always. Make sure if you order you get all the drinks you need because your server will not be back to refill them. Pros: Conveniently Located Cons: Everything else more

Favorite Mexican Restaurant 4/16/2010

Las Palmas is a local favorite for my friends and I. I've never tried anything that I haven't liked. Anything involving their cheese is delicious. Cheese dip, cheese enchiladas, and chimichangas...yum. Their quesadilla rellena (shrimp and beef) as well as their taco salads are some of my favorites. You rarely have to wait to be seated, but the service can be a little slow especially when they're busy (that can be true at any restaurant though). Definitely worth a trip if you've never tried it. You'll pay about the same as you'd pay going out to eat at any decent restaurant...it's not drive-thru cheap, but it's not pricey either. Pros: never had to wait for seating, great food, good margaritas Cons: service can be slow more

Best in Country! 3/4/2009

Hands down the best Mexican food I have ever had. Including in Mexico. Try a chimichunga, it'll change your life! more

Absolute Best Mexican Lunch 12/12/2007

This is our department's favorite place for lunch. We call it the CrackHouse because it's so addictive. The food is the best, the service is fast and the lunch prices are very reasonable. We've been going there once or twice a week for the last 3 years and we've never been disappointed. more

Delicious and a GREAT value! 8/16/2007

I have never ever had a bad meal at any Las Palmas. I have went there dozens and dozens of times, and my office has eaten there many days. Their food is an amazing value and I have never had anything that wasn't delicious. Their salsa and queso dip is delicious. Their fajitias, margaritas, and their burritos are divine. Try them! You won't be disappointed! Pros: Great value, delicious food, friendly staff Cons: I really can't think of any! more

Mexican Comfort Food 7/7/2007

Nipper Corner's Las Palmas is our ""comfort food/place"". We have been going there for 7yrs now. Can anyone say, ""Queso!""? and now, to much delight, you can say ""Queso Fundido"" (chirizo and queso dip). The chimichangas are our favorite. We have never had a bad experience, and they do wonderfully to cater to large groups, so I am alittle confused on the ""No"" to groups. I believe the Nipper Corner's Las Palmas has the best staff and service of all the Las Palmas'. Pros: Staff, Service, Food for the Value Cons: Parking lot was beautified resulting in fewer spaces! more

Las Palmas - West Nashville 11/29/2005

When I first moved here from Arizona, a friend suggested we go out for Mexican good. I cringed at the thought of southern style Mexican food. We went to Las Palmas and I was very pleasantly surprised. The food was served promptly and hot. The flavor was good, not hidden under too many spices and most pleasing for those who cannot eat the hottest seasoning. It was more inline with the style of Mexican Food I was accustomed to in the Southwest. The variety of items is good and the family atmosphere is great. They must be doing something right as I have yet to go for dinner or lunch and it not be packed. more

Las Palmas - Nippers Corner 11/17/2005

This is a favorite of my family. We eat here probably once a week. The food is good albeit a little underspiced. But that's good because they don't ruin the food by overspicing it like many Mexican restaurants do. The waitstaff is very quick and friendly. The greeter has always been great and very friendly. I love their tacos and burritos. I don't know what patio the official review was talking about because I've never seen a patio there. Overall, I love this place and will continue to go there to eat. Pros: Friendly, Inexpensive, Quick seating Cons: Parking is sparse more

Las Palmas Nippers Corner 9/19/2004

This Las Palmas may be the best in town in terms of food quality. Thurs and Fri nights you should be ready to wait a while to be seated, and parking is very limited at Nippers Corner so be ready to hoof it from the movie rental place. Lunch is $6.50 Fajitas time for me, my dinner favorite is the Chicken Grande Burrito Fajita. Its just like the fajitas but less pricey for dinner, plus I happen to LOVE the melted cheese over the top of this dish. Friendly service and excellent bang for the buck in one of my favorite fares makes this Las Palmas almost a weekly habit for me. The only other negative I will say is that during the summer the place gets hot and the A/C cannot keep up. Pros: Clean, Good service, value Cons: , often crowded more
