So, yet another ""Mexican"" place in Nashville. I'm not sure how any of them are any different from each-other. Las Palmas, La Hacienda, El Sombrero, Tacos y Mariscos Lopez. It's all the same slop:
1) Government cheeze whiz
2) ""Salsa"" that's pureed canned tomatoes
3) Every meat product tastes like fajitas
4) Orange rice that tastes like dishwater
5) Brown beans
6) Wet lettuce that serves as a bed for guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, radishes, etc.
7) Giant margaritas so you forget the fact that you're not eating real Mexican food.
I've spent a good deal of time in Mexico, and these restaurants do not serve anything close to what Mexicans serve/eat. I think that Las Palmas made the model, and everyone else followed suit with the same, bland food.
For example, what do you think of when you think of Mexican food? Do you think of hard-shell tacos with ground beef? If so, then this is the place for you.
If on the other hand, you think of delicious tacos al pastor with fresh lime, onion, cilantro and pineapple, then go somewhere else. There's nothing authentic about this place. It's not Mexican, it's not Tex-Mex. It's what your high school cafeteria would serve if they served Mexican food.
The last two times I ate at Las Palmas, I got food poisoning and was broadcasting my meal across the porcelain bowl in my bathroom for 2 days. I highly recommend that you DON'T each the enchiladas (or anything for that matter, unless you like to splatter).
