My wife and I decided to skip our usual Vancouver happy hour places (Tommy O's, Gustav's, 360 ... all excellent btw), and try Lapellah. We entered into a place that smelled and looked great! Unfortunately, that was the highlight of our meal. \r
It took awhile before we got menus from our ""waitress"", who had the warmth and personality of a fire hydrant. I tried to ask about the different brews on-tap but she had no idea what each was like. We ordered some drinks and some happy hour items and waited. Finally, we got our order of toasted spicy nuts, which were basically beer nuts in a tiny bowl. I said to my wife these would be great with a beer! The manager(?) came by and asked if there was anything we needed and I said our beers would be good! He never came back nor did our drinks. In the mean time, we got the rest of our food which were small portions and yes, very salty (the flatbread was inedible)! Boy, we really needed those drinks now! Finally, a different waitress delivered our drinks while we're halfway through our meal ... sorry, but that's simply unacceptable. \r
My wife wanted to complain to the manager but I just wanted to get the hell out of there as fast as possible. Luckily, our busboy took our check and we left. On our way out, we saw our ""waitress"" at the bar chatting with friends (yes, she was still on the clock). \r
Bad food, worse service, never coming back!
