My husband took me to Lantern for my birthday a few weeks ago, and I was really excited because I had heard good things. Unfortunately, I was let down. It's very small and they don't take reservations, so you have to show up early and hope for the best. Also, it is incredibly noisy in there. I think it is due to the high ceilings and it seems like they have tried to hang panels to soften the noise, but it's not working. The atmosphere would be really nice if they could do something about the noise.
All that aside, I was completely unimpressed by the food. The menu is extremely limited, so you'd think that what they do cook, they'd do a good job with. I had a special soup that was basically fancy, somewhat bland miso. I ordered the fried grouper and it was okay, but nothing extraordinary. Same with my husband's chicken entree. Overall, this place is not worth the expense.
